Last emergency QB was probably Tom Tupa. Mid-90s IIRC for the Jets. I remember because he threw a TD on his first or second pass.

Forgot that one. Previous I'd say Dungy for the Steelers

I thought they actually let the 3rd string QB dress for just this reason. He's dressed, but, not active and can go if top 2 are out of game. But, they have to be OUT. Cannot return.

If he gets hurt as well... well then it just ain't your day.


edit: Okay, was just told this rule has changed.
