Re: Saints have to keep all three QBs
Yeah, If we're down to the third QB, we're hosed anyway, :)

Re: Saints have to keep all three QBs
luke will play for someone if he is cut.in 2012 he outplayed Daniels in training camp but was cut, then within two days gets signed by Atlanta. He has not stuck around because he is a bum look what his older brother did with the Bears now with Tampa. If cut look how fast Tampa signs him or Atlanta.Griffin upside to me is by next year = to Luke past this only time will tell. However this year with Drews age catching up to him look how long hes been out in camp, Luke would be the best option,Griffin because of his up side it would be nuts to cut him.Lets say Drews out for 4 games an Griffin wins one or two games but with luke its two or three out of 4 the extra win could be=to first round bye.Now is that worth a extra Te or Wr who with the extra two practice squad positions up from 8 to 10 could be kept .Qb is the most important postion on the field an Drew is getting old an time stands still for no man.We are lucky to have depth i even think Kilgore looks to have enough upside in two years to say be = to Daniels an with practice squads expanded from 8 to 10 even if we keep luke an Griffin i would like saints to keep him on practice squad they could put him on and off every week with an Wr say Jones for example who has had a good camp same as they used to do with Tanner an Canfield.:bng::cool::stupid:

Re: Saints have to keep all three QBs
The only way we keep Luke is if we are concerned about what he can tell the other teams about our O.
What he has done previous years or could do for us is irrelevant. Griffin gives us a better chance to win this year. |
Re: Saints have to keep all three QBs
This is the team that kept 2 place kickers and one punter but 3 QB's? Insanity!!!

Re: Saints have to keep all three QBs
Check out Luke Qb rating this pre season its very good, an Griffins qb rating not bad but not as good as Lukes.Depth at qb is hard to find given Drews age the odds increase from 35 an up qbs more likely to miss games.Drews window for another superbowl is the next few years so hope Saints not stupid an keep two on roster when they should thiank the stars they lucky to have quality depth at the most critical position. Please do not throw it away.

At Safety, you have six good options Vaccaro, Bush, Byrd, Ball, Sunseri and Warren; even Zimmerman looked promising until injury... At Cornerback, though injuries have clouded things but you have five options in Lewis, White, Bailey, Robinson, Jean-Baptiste, with Sweeting and Wade... At Linebacker, you've got salary cap ramifications making cutting Lofton or injured Hawthorne prohibitive, then you've got Galette, Haralson; surging linebackers in Humber, Reddick and Knox; quality depth in Dawson; two promising draft picks in Fortt and Powell; that's ten (10) and not counting an injured (again) Victor Butler who could be expendable for salary cap reasons and inability to get to the field... You have six (6) returning defenders from a surprise defensive line from last season with the possible transition of Rufus Johnson and opportunistic Brandon Deaderick... With an emphasis to get special teams some help; can see easily carrying twenty-six (26) on defense... |
Re: Saints have to keep all three QBs
If your going to gamble i think this is the position that will have the least impact. because if Drew goes down we are done for anyways. so let the future play and get the reps. there are always plenty of old timers on the QB trash heap to sign if need be.
