Saints tie record for flags in a game
Saints received 22 flags in one game which ties the record which was held by 3 other teams. The last team to accomplish this feat was the 49ers in 1998.
It seemed the refs threw a flag on every play! The NFL has to slow the refs down. The game got boring and took forever. |

That is not the kind of record that I want.

Re: Saints tie record for flags in a game
The game had so many flags that when I went to go get a beer and go to the bathroom I got called for a delay of game penalty and holding.
I thought Payton was going to die. |

Not trying to sugar coat it but as Stinchcomb said, they do this often to send a message in pre-season, then back off a bit when the season starts.
Its a good thing they're calling the CB muggings and push-offs. It helps us more than hurts us in the long run. |

Exactly! It wasn't a game, it was a preseason game. Big difference. These things aren't for our entertainment, they're to help the players, coaches, refs and the league to get ready for the season. There were some large rule changes and policy shifts this off-season and this is where everyone learns what's different and what it is they can get away with.

In all fairness, agree with Stinchcomb. Other games I saw tonight and replays from last night were riddled with flags.
