AB TRADE RUMOR-----pretty good article
i have been a huge AB supporter in the past. but to me at times recently he does seem like he has given up. i thought last year outside of the fumbles he really started to turj a corner because he wasnt throwing as many int\'s and being stupid with the ball on pass plays. but he looks worse this year then i have seen. i mean last week those two int\'s were bad. but before we cut him or trade him lets see if we get a new coach and let him evaluate the situation and make the decision.

Good article Gator, obliged.
Dump him, I say. I\'ve always felt that Blake did the work back in that one season when we finally saw some success. So it\'s nice to see that management is finally wising up somewhat. (And I use that term loosely, of course). |

well.... our d was about the same (player talent wise) when zook was the D coach and they were one of the best in the eague...show you that coaching can help alot, if the players want to play....
and as for the bonus money, that is why everyone wants the big signing bonus, it is guaranteed money... that is why SF is in such a ****hole money wise....they still paing JG, TO, and a few oteher players who are not even there.... |

I still don\'t see trading or cutting him. I mean, name names. Who can replace him?

Here is my take. It is all in the last paragraph of the article. I mean who is out there that will come in replace brooks. Brees is probably your only guy. For me, I just don\'t like the guy nothing against him but I\'d rather draft a QB in the late first round/early second Alex Smith anyone?
Keep brooks for one more year. Have a young QB come in and learn the system and get experience late in the season if were not in the superbowl picture. Trade brooks after that year. I think most people will agree brooks is not the biggest problem on the team(CB, LB). The big issue for me and most other fans I think is getting a coaching change and preferably an addition or change in the front office- although I don\'t think Benson will do it. |

Another thing I just thought of is any free agent you bring in your pretty much sticking to for a couple years. I mean who is going to come here saying ok I play for 1 year while this rookie we just drafted gets ready. Other than Kurt Warner types NO THANK YOU, no one is going to want to come if we let FAs know were going to draft a guy, and I don\'t think the team would screw somebody, signing a guy thinking he is the man and turning around and drafting a QB.
So pretty much its sign a guy or draft someone. None of FAs look good except Brees, and definately none are better than brooks except Brees. Volek was playing KC for all you thinking about him. He is ok but better than brooks? Be truthful. Anyway regardless of whether you think Volek is better or not, would guys pretty much agree its sign a FA or draft a QB and then stick with them for at least 2 years. 1) who wants a rookie to come in a learn from brooks?!?!
2) Volek was ahead of Carr at Fresno State, Carr could not beat him out and had to wait til he graduated the Univ. I believe one season he was like 30 td\'s to 3 int\'s.... he was a great QB who was overlooked.... who knows?! |

And once more our team history, the drafting of or bringing in young players does not work. We never allow them a chance to mature before we let them go. The list is long.
