I heard this on TV the other day and I've often thought the same thing and have brought this up before..

Remember the Rams? The "Greatest Show on Turf" ?

Well, it seems a lot of NFC teams tried to match what the Rams were doing on offense and tried to keep up with them. Our Saints are a prime expample of a team that concetrated heavily on the offensive side of the ball.

In contrast, the AFC had to compete with the Ravens defense and they concetrated heavily on defense.

Well, now, most teams in the NFC can't compete with the AFC because the NFC can't stop anyone on defense.

This league is a copycat league but I think the good coaches realize that historically teams win with defense and a good running game.

Yes, it CAN be done with offense, it's just much harder.

If Haslett stays, I hope they concentrate on defense. I hope they are very active in free-agency and hope they draft for defense.
