While the heritability of IQ has been investigated for nearly a century, there is still debate about the significance of heritability estimates[6][7] and the mechanisms of inheritance.[8] So let them bang there heads over it. 1000+ years and they are still debating. maybe i should reword it Being a small school player he has a lot learn. As he learns we will see what what kind of football IQ he might have. the question turns into what is his football IQ ceiling? |

Its a case of blue and yellow making green; or two gasses forming a liquid under the right circumstances. Try looking at it from this perspective. There is a difference between learning, and memorizing... One requires memory and the other requires a level of conceptual understanding. We all memorize e = mc^2, few grasp the concept of theoretical relativity. I do agree that it will take a bit of time for us as fans to understand his capacity since we only get limited amounts of exposure to him. I am sure, that coaches who have dealt with him have a good idea of what that is. |

Getting deep gentlemen!! I like what Dixon has shown, I always root for the underdog, small school players, undrafted FA, seems like they have to prove more and just every now and then they do. I'm hoping he becomes a shut down corner.

The ability to trust ones instincts. the "higher the IQ" -quote unquote - more variations ones instincts can handle. if you can not grasp a play book or play calling you are at the floor of a very tall cathedral building. that to me is not football IQ that is just inability to memorize. adjusting on the fly without thinking and making the right decision that is football IQ IMO actual break down by definition is really kinda pointless. the medical society can not agree upon it so really why bother. plus in 100 years they will probably laugh about the test as measure of a person mental status or capability. we really have no clue how it all works between your ears anyway. till they do i take a lot of it with a grain of salt. So IMO all football IQ is a convent term that works in the football world to measures how much those instincts can handle |
