this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3244196 Tebucky Jones, Saints . He can get from Point A to Point B as fast as anyone. But what Jones possesses in speed, he lacks in instincts. "He's all over the place," says an NFC scout. "You just can't ...

I think his instincts against the run are poor to fair (actually, when he gets near the line he becomes a moron, as near as I can tell). Someone recently suggested we move him to SS; I think that is a bad idea for this reason.
His work against the pass has been good this year. Sure he makes some mistakes, but the deep ball has been relatively contained this year (just think back to the big plays we witnessed back the Knight/Bellamy days - don\'t get me wrong, they were thugs and I loved them, but they couldn\'t stop anyone over the top). We\'ve given up a few more big balls this year than last, but I think that is because Bellamy\'s range is dropping. Also, as BnB noted elsewhere, he looks like he\'s on an island a lot of the time (which is actually a sign of the faith put in him out there). His tackling has improved ten fold (to the point where I believe he is a decent tackler). If it weren\'t for his huge price tag, I would think he was a solid to good FS. |

Just another physical specimen with no football instincts - sounds like most of Haslett\'s choices.

Once again, we point out a player thats NOT near the top of the list of the main problems (player-wise) with this team.
If he was making Bellamy money no one would be calling him out. DT (nose) SLB WLB Those are the big 3. If we even had good B players at those positions Tebucky posts would disappear. But until Venturi and McCarthy leave, all player personnel improvement discussions are practically meaningless, yet they still hopelessly draw me in, just like the Hardees girl riding that bull. WOW! You could give Venturi/McCarthy the pro-bowl rosters and 9-7 is about as good as they\'d finish. |

Ummmm, actually TBuck is a problem due to scheme.
If Venturi is going to insist on running zone (when McKenzie is far better at playing man) then TBuck needs to know where to be on the field. Against Carolina he kept getting in the wrong place and Muhammed caught for a big gain. What use is a zone system if the safety is out of position to help? Seems like a brain problem here. |

What the main problem is and remains is Venturi and his Einstein Defense. This group doesn\'t have the brain power or ability to understand what the Great Mind of Defense is talking about. What we need is a defensive genious that can design a scheme to be executed by idiots. Because, folks, that\'s what we have, idiots, that is. Who wants to bet that Buffet Boy Sullivan, is sulking because he doesn\'t have the smarts to understand what the hell is going on. In Georgia, he was told, \"Sick em\" and that\'s what he did. Here he has to learn \"technique,\" whatever the hell techinque is in this scheme. If you look deep enough, I\'ll bet you find that over half this bunch doesn\'t understand what the coaching staff is talking about. That is very evident with Fumbles the Clown and the audible situation. Right? |
