Darren was a cap casualty.
It's easy to blame all on defense, but the offense had the ball 1st in overtime, and if saints convert a 3rd down they could've took more time off the clock if not score and put us up by 8. It's not all defense although they should take MOST OF THE CRITICISM.

Yes, it is. 'If' my aunt had balls she could score on this defense also. When you are putting up 29 points per game and #2 in scoring in the league, it is most certainly square on the defense. We should have never been in over time.

Read my Thread on offense vs defense and read Rob Ryan's words as he agrees. It is his defense.

I am not saying defense is not the blame, I am saying they're not solely the blame. Think about it, if we had Sproles we would've converted on 3rd down better than what we are doing now.

No sir. 3rd down conversion rate with out Sproles 58% (league high) and highest in the last 4 years.
3rd down conversion rate with Sproles
2013 44%
2012 44%
2011 57%

Is there more that went into those conversion rates in 3 years? Yes
Is there more that goes into it now? yes

I just applied your logic and no matter how you spin it. No

You comparing 2 games to 3 full seasons? how many times did we take a knee or just tried to run the clock out? Those stats confirm how much Sproles was effective

Seriously? You do not understand what goes into the stat... 221 third downs went into that 2013 stat, you think a few knees a year effects that %? You are also assuming that Sproles was the person converting all of those 3rd downs which isnt even remotely a reality. Sproles had 124 touches in 2013 the Saints had 97 third down conversions. You are trying to tell me 78% of Sproles touches were third down conversions? Just stop...

Know what brother... you have gone off the reservation and I answered what you asked lee which didn't seem to pan out the way you expected.

I don't have the energy to hit a moving target today.

You are very comical, yes, to your question, even if he didn't carry the ball
simply cause defense coordinators had to make plans or run scenarios for the position he played. If you on the field then you must be accounted for and if he was on the field 124 times then 124 times he had to be accounted for... Now, for trying to persuade you, I see you can't be persuaded, so I am gonna just say lets agree to disagree that Sproles would've made a difference from 0-2 to 1-1 or 2-0

I used to defend an unpopular New Orleans QB with this same argument.
