No quit in the Saints
This is the point at which I was making in earlier posts. What has been seldom said is that Brooks lacks Fundamental football skills at the QB position. I can think of what I call the BIG THREE: 1. Protect the football at all costs. (Well, why do I call him Fumbles the Clown) 2. Pocket/Backfield presence and coolness. (He panics and makes bonehead plays) 3. Accuracy in passing and pitching. (The throws that he makes are hard, low, and benind most receivers.) As I continue to watch Brooks, it becomes apparent that there are two problems. First, the lack of doing the three fundamentals above, and second the lack of some coherent program that makes him better able to do the three things above. The first is on Brooks, the second is on the coaching staff. Primarily Sheppard, then McCarthy. Xan! I agree that strategy in this team is how to get Sullivan away from the Media Buffet. That\'s why I have voiced long and loud for McCarthy to get on the bus. At any rate that\'s my up to the minute analysis of the situation. |
