this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This team can definitely still go starting at 0-2, no question. They are going drop 60 this sunday. Even the defense can't screw up that kind of production.............hopefully....

Re: Seasons on the brink: Which 0-2 teams can still get to postseason?
My thought is that we lost 2 games on the road by less than 3 points holding a lead inside the last 2 minutes of each game. Also the team scored a grand total of 58 points in those games.
Literally each game turned on a total of 2-3 plays each. Now are the Saints exhibiting problems? Absolutely. The defense is a sieve and the offense both makes mistakes at critical times and do not seem to have a good game plan for the 4 minute offense at the end of games. But I think there is a huge overreaction to not meeting the expectation of being 2-0 at this point. When the offense makes a few less mistakes and the defense makes a few more stops, then this sputtering start will soon be forgotten. SFIAH |

8-0 at home 4-4 on the road = 12-4 hopefully the road goes thru Nola in the post season.

If you really feel that way I guess it's time to start talking about the draft in mid September. And who we need in free agency. And who the next DC is going to come in a resurrect the Dome Patrol. BTW, that's sarcasm. The season may in fact be lost. But that isn't today. Playoff seeding doesn't even make sense until about week 10, and isn't generally clear at all until week 14 or 15. If after 15 weeks, the team is below 500, then I could understand the sentiment above. But it's week 2. SFIAH |

Well hold on a second. I remember a statistic about the #1 seed rarely making itt o the superbowl when we and peytons colts made it there. I think your record is very vindictive on how good you are , but do not dismiss a team littered with losses making the playoffs.
07 Giants were lucky they made it at all 10 Packers were very similar to our team now. Perhaps we were destined to split in Atlanta and drop a headscratcher or two on the road. We always do anyways. Looks like were taking our lumps early which feels bad , but itz demands we take a microscopic look at our team. The Atlanta and Cleveland losses may ensure that we dont commit the same errors come January. And to be honest , if there were a good time for us to correct Robinson or even lose Ingram for a few weeks it would be now , not when we host the Cardinals in the playoffs |

I wouldn't care what our record would be to get into the playoffs, as long as we were on fire when the time come. We can beat anyone when we are clicking on all cylinders, homefield advantage or not. We do still have to put up some wins to get there though!!

And frankly I'm no longer satisfied accepting this BS that the team can only win a championship as a #1 seed with HFA. If you are the best team in the conference, then it should be doable to win in anyone's stadium at any time of year. The 23-15 loss in Seattle in January last season wasn't a blowout. It should be doable. SFIAH |

I would love for the team to pick themselves up and dust themselves off. Home would be the place to do just that.
Rise up..............oh wait, that's taken. |
