Too many opportunities wasted

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; 2011 would have been our year, the defense was not great but was doing enough to win football games, our offense was the BEST in NFL history, no one ever gives us credit for that but the stats don't lie ...

However, once again it came down to a Sean Payton led team not being able to win on the road, hard to ignore our terrible road record now

I guess the old adage is still true. To win on the road you need a solid defense.

We don't have one.

Very true, however its also hard to ignore that drew Brees is not the same player on the road as he is in the dome

I saw a stat the other day that says in the dome his TD to INT ratio is something like 15-2, on the road his TD to INT ratio is 12-9

7 more turnovers which will kill you at any point, not only in another teams back yard

When Brees has a bad game on the road it makes it almost impossible to win because its not like we can rely on our defense to stop anyone

Agree, but I'll bet most QB's and most Offenses look worse on the road than they do at home. But Brees does look like 2 different QB's at times.

Defenses have always traveled better than Offenses.
