It hasn't been the greatest week for New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.
Last Sunday, his unit was thrashed by the Dallas Cowboys on national television. On Thursday he learned that veteran safety Jairus Byrd, the team's biggest offseason acquisition, suffered a season-ending knee injury. But Ryan said the Saints are "close to getting it fixed." Away from football, he takes solace in family, and the biggest development in the Ryan household this week was the addition of a new pet.
