Thats why PT should not see a reduced role
When Brees needed a first down or a big play to get the momentum going, the ball always went to PT
Ingram and Khiry have been fantastic, but there's something about PT that makes him special Crunch time and he always comes through for us, when brees needed first downs in the Superbowl, who did he go to?? PT23 - who converted about 4 first downs himself on our 3rd quarter opening drive The old guy is not done yet, his role should reflect that. |

Re: Thats why PT should not see a reduced role
He's not playing like a hall of famer though is he? I don't care if we throw it 100 times, run it 100 times or split it down the middle, as long as we are successful. Right now, it's obvious we need more balance, and when Payton occasionally has taken his head out of his butt and tried to run it, that's when we've been at our best THIS YEAR. Every year is a little different, but right now we have to run it more than we have. If Payton can't do that because of an ego then he can find the door and get out. Let's hope it doesn't have to come to that.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Thats why PT should not see a reduced role
It's hard to compare PT and Duece, our O-Line was so much better when Duece was toting the rock.
I'm guessing PT would look about the same running behind the 2006 O-Line: |

I don't understand why Cadet is getting reps over PT... blows my mind, of all the dumb mistakes Payton has made this season that is number 1 for me. Cadet has done absolutely nothing for this team yet we still see him on the field when PT should be out there.

Well, I agree PT is a lot better than Cadet, but that's not a knock on Cadet. He played very well against Dallas and again today.

Aside from your asinine post about Cadet playing well, why the hell should he be getting reps over PT? He does nothing better/as good than PT... nothing. |
