Re: Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?
I think a stud DT that could rush the passer would be huge for us. Someone like Mccoy or a guy like JJ Watt that can be a sack machine from the inside.
It's unfortunate Hicks hasn't really worked out all that well, he is far to inconsistent and plays down to his competition. I thought he would be a pro-bowl type player for us, and maybe he can be at some point but we are lacking the push in the middle this year which is leading to tougher times on JR and Cam. We all know the lack of a pass rush kills the DBs as well. I liked what I saw from Jenkins and Foster this past week. Perhaps Walker will come along as well, but the bottom line is we need more push from our DTs. |

Re: Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?
I wouldn't trade until the draft, then get a stud C and 1 ILB in the 1st, a 3-4 NT in the 2nd, trade again for an extra 3rd pick up a gaurd and a CB, the 4th a WR for Meachum(although I love the guy and would have picked a TE but Graham got his MONEY) 5th a DE, 6th a kicker and 7th a RB( there will be good ones if Ingram leaves). I would keep Lofton to go along with a stud ILB and the NT and DE to shore up our middle( it gets exposed) our gaurd have big contracts and either need to ajust or get some youth and trade 1 of them. A WR that catches everything that is trown his way would go along way. Trade a gaurd, either 1 and as much as I like him,JR.I want to see a 3-4 D way more than what we play now.

I almost left off get rid of Vitt and Johnson, and the DB coach, I really think that is where our defensive troubles start from, period. McMann needs to be escorted out of the state and told never to return for his contrabutions to special teams as far as I'm concerned.

Jenkins never ever played well when he was here. Why would I want him back?

I would trade Toon for a 4th if someone would give it.

Re: Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?
In a perfect world, Goodell the Impotent & Spec Teams Coordinator McMahon need to be traded to "Unemployment" for our vacated 2nd round picks back.
However, there are some really good ideas for getting someone at ILB, and we should be targeting this ASAP. A bunch of "What if's" though: our record vs other teams' record before the deadline, draft picks vs win-now, Sunseri's/Powell's/SJB's accelerated development before the deadline, etc. Many, many things (Good, Bad & Otherwise) can happen between now and Oct 28th. Standing with what we have without making ANY moves before the deadline is not a bad idea, either. Trusting in the talent we have is a great option, as long as the coaches get their head out of their butts and get this talent to play as a freakin' team. |

Re: Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?
I was actually thinking about something today (trust me, it hurts the first time):
A Jimmy Graham trade? We just paid the man big, but there were some teams I watched today that would put some teams over that hump with Miami, NYG & Houston coming to mind. The obvious teams of OAK, JAX, WAS, and NYJ would be in that mix as well. Graham is a monster and maybe a future HOF'er as well. Could you just imagine what we would get for him? Or is he too indispensable now and our future? We can definitely win without him, but he is an unbelievable weapon when he is in on the field. |
