Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?

What do y'all think? During this Bye Week and the trade deadline 3 weeks away, you think Loomis and Payton are eyeballing other rosters for possible trade scenarios? It's a probability, but like some one said a few months ago, the art of the trade is a lost art these days. Give up current talent on the roster for a better draft pick, or trade a 2015 draft pick for some talent from another roster?

My preference is to hoard draft picks, but I don't think we can afford moving some of our talent for a pick. Of course, I ain't that smart. But if a trade can make this team better, I am all for it.

Something to think about though: the 2015 draft has some good talent at OLB/ILB in the 1st & 2nd rounds, and decent interior lineman talent in the 2nd round.

I pulled the pin, now I am running away...

Yeah something we havent had is a lot of draft picks. I dont understand how we dont just try to get more draft picks. The 2014 draft aside from Cooks and maybe Baptiste has been a complete waste so far. They don't trust Baptiste out there very much, thats a huge red flag for a second round pick that should be able to contribute almost immediately. Powell could be interesting if he develops well or if he's thrown into the spotlight due to injuries. I like San Francisco's ideology as far as that goes. They will continue to be a powerhouse if they continue to rack up the talent and develop them over the years.
As far as trades, maybe Arthur Brown. Idk for what, but we need linebackers, we're pretty thin there.

Re: Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?

The deadline is too early in the season, anyways, and folks are scared to pull the trigger. Unless your season is in the tank or you've got a pretty good W/L record and have confidence in your depth, a mid-season trade is dangerous. We don't fit any of these right now. I'd love for a CB or a S or Powell to step up big and make a veteran expendable, but I'm not seeing that likelihood either.

I do like the Arthur Brown idea, though I'd hate to give up 2015 or 2016 picks to get him. A one-for-one or a draft package deal from both sides, maybe, but I just don't know. The Brown addition would be huge for this defense. But trade the future? Tough...glad I'm not the General Manager.

If we manage to lose two of the next four, trade the offensive linemen - they will be a premium to a contending team and are a pariah to our salary cap...

If someone were stupid enough to think Galette could be the pass rusher to get them over the top, I'd move that contract as well...

Get rid of the dead weight contracts...

Don't won't to give up on the season, but I'd be highly motivated to get rid of many of these contracts...

Agreed. This season ain't over by damn sight.

And I'm not talking a hypothetical if we tank it before the deadline. What could we do trade-wise to make this team better, if anything at all? Move a WR and a pick for a LB? Move a LB for a WR and a pick?

If we're rolling at the deadline, we'd stand-down trade talk, I'm guessing.

Re: Trade Deadline Oct 28th -- Any Ideas?

The difficulty of the trade is that nobody out there has anything actually worth getting, that they are willing to part with and let go of! I'm sure some bottom-feeder team would trade a marginal no-name for a marginal no-name, barely above the practice squad level, but getting a QUALITY player who can jump in and make an impact NOW is gonna be tough, and expensive (in terms of picks or whatever).

Not a trade, but currently I am secretly glommed onto the full-on moronic "RIchie Incognito, should we?" bandwagon. The dude could be signed and quarantined and put in a quasi-state of lockdown by the coaches (kinda like they did with Anthony Hargrove and his drug problems, they had him in counseling and people keeping an eye on him practically 24/7 as he worked with the team) and give Incognito no cell phone, no Twitter, no jackassery, etc., just put him in to play and protect Drew, maybe in a half backup, half starter rotational role.... Like I said, in reality I know it's incredibly dumb, but man...if he were just a couple of years younger, we could move Grubbs or Evans somewhere and get rid of their contract, get Incognito for much cheaper, I would be all over that ridiculous move, for next season....

I'd be fine with us just sitting with what we have.

Byrd/Vaccaro for Jenkins/Harper?

C'mon, you knew it was coming.

I'd prefer to roll with who we have. Personnel isn't the problem.

I'd give up a 3rd or 4th to have Jenkins back. The grass wasn't greener for us. You're right though, personnel isn't the issue.
