Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

Bottom line.

Or a QB forcing a throw with a 6pt lead

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

BS, don't buy it. ref's weren't covering Tate and they didn't throw the Brees pic. Bad football lost this one, can't stand it when people blame the ref's. Sorry, my 2 bits. your up 13 late in the 4th, good teams win those games and bad teams lose them. Nothing personal.

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

no but they have no problem calling Pass Interference on every critical play that was simply good coverage, yet never call PI on the Lions for the same BS.

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

The refs had nothing to do with golden Tate juking 4 of our players for a 60 yard TD, utter embarrassment.

And they sure didn't call PI on that last play, when Colston was being raped in the air either, did they?

Refs did give this game to the lions, if you gonna call pass interference on bush then you should be making those same calls on the lions defense. Can't wait to see SP interview, I predict he will be donating to the nfl fine committee, no way he gonna keep his lips shut on this officiating

I never blame the refs for a loss, but this is dead on. They called a BS pi on the 4rth down, and then on our 4rth down which had the same type of contact they held their flags, The fix was in. It is coming to a point where I can't watch it anymore because it is honestly starting to seem fixed

Dude we made our fair share of mistakes, but the pi on 4rth was bs, and then holding their flags for identical contact on our 4rth was bs. we had 12 ****ing penalties for 130+ yards. Bull****, the fix was in

brees84 10-19-2014 03:33 PM

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

That Bush PI is regular play most of the time. When Earl Thomas/revis makes that play it is described as perfect play. F*** this league and media guys.

Oh and the number of holds they failed to call, but then would call us for something, ****ing garbage

It's all about drama, tight games keep people watching... Refs keep it that way...

He should not have made the throw, agreed, but we held them, the ****ing refs gave them a first down

3 things:
Play calling-why is Brees throwing the ball 10 f*cking times when we're up by 6 with 2 mins to go?
Corey White- stop defending him, he's awful
Robert Meachem-WHY is this idiot still on the roster while Morgan and Toon are left to twist in the wind?

Well whether you can stand it or not, who cares. Facts are facts. we held on 4rth down and stopped them. Refs gave them a first down, and if that was PI then so was the play on Meach at the end, because the contact was identical.

Brees is throwing because we couldn't run against the best run d on the game. They're pretty good against the run

He's not fast anymore, his hands are awful and I don't think our run blocking will suffer with out him. He has 1 catch and like 4 drops.

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

I will say this, was the officiating bad, yes!!! Especially that PI call on Bush, however the Saints lost this game and have themselves to blame. Saints are just not a good team. You can count on one horrible pick a game from Drew, that's just who he is now get use to it.

Saints will be drafting in the top 10 this year.

So rather than try and at the very least force Detroit to burn TOs, we should stop the clock for them and possibly throw a pick?

You realize that we're still 1 game back from Carolina right? All the teams in the south are awful, the Saints have at least been in every game aside from Dallas. I wager we'll still win the south.

we were aggressively trying to move the ball, we passed a hell of a lot better than we ran this game... running we would have went 3 and out so fast they wouldn't need to burn timeouts...

Or a DUMB ARSE head coach that refuses to run the ball, and a bunch of lame ARSE defensive players that quit as soon as we get a lead.

Coaching and lazy defensive players lost this game. I think we're going to go into a slide the rest of the way.

Is that a serious statement? Even if you go 3-0 and punt you're still forcing them to burn time outs, even if you drop the back in the behind the line you're taking time off the clock.

Once again, a loss on the road
Another backbreaking pick thrown
Another defensive letdown

Our entire team is complete garbage

I actually disagree, I feel better coming out of this game than at any other point this season

At least the defense showed some signs of life.

It looks like Suh is rubbing off on the rest of that defense. >.<

On that Tate TD, White made usual WTF play and Vaccaro missed game saving tackle.

You feel better that our D got lazy with a lead and let one player juke 4 of ours with 4 minutes to go?

Then future HOF throws his 7th pick in 6 weeks to add insult to injury?

Barry from MS 10-19-2014 03:48 PM

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

Lions won because we couldn't put the game away with 5 minutes left. Instead of scoring a TD, we kick a stinking FG to go up 23-10 instead of 27-10 with 5 minutes left.

Blame the refs if y'all want, but giving up a 73 yard TD with less than 4 minutes to go and up by 13 is pure hot garbage.

Vaccaro is terrible, can't tackle at all.

I didn't have a problem with them passing to try and pick up first downs. I did however have a problem with the score 20-10, instead of showing a killer instinct they played conservatively and kicked a field goal to go up 23-10. I had a bad feeling from then on.

blackangold 10-19-2014 03:51 PM

Re: Officiating is why the Lions won this game.

You can't put the loss on any one person, but the team as a whole just does not have any killer instinct. As soon as they get a good lead they stop playing.

I sorry but Brees should no longer be considered "elite", if we had Rodgers or Manning or Brady we would have won this game along with others this year. I am not saying Brees is done, but Brees is no longer a winning QB and he is no longer elite in my opinion.
