My dad was/is a charter season ticket holder for the Saints and his seats were merged with my brother in law's family.

My brothers and I have always watched MLB in the off-season. This year we started road tripping to watch the Astros and Rangers play. We're not definitive fans of either team, but we're fans of the MLB.

Baseball is a much purer game where balls are either in or out, and umpires tend to call professional games. The level of subjectivity in officiating is not even 1/2 of what the NFL has become.

Everyone is right here when they say the game has become very subjective and oddly enough, I too find myself not enjoying it. NFL refs have become an avenue for Roger Goodell and the NFL's "agenda" with hits to the head and concussions - a problem caused by the NFL. The off-field drama of players and now politics that have made it to the game have done nothing by repulse me.

I feel the NFL, and football in general, may slip away within our lifetime. I appreciate the discussion in this thread.

I thought this was your second fav sport!?!

I believe roger thinks he'll get everyone to love football if there's a bunch of long pass plays. By everyone, i mean people that aren't football fans yet. If you look at the receiver wrong it's pass interference. If you literally lay a finger on the qb it's roughing the passer. Pretty soon every game will be a tecmo bowl style shootout. Personally I wanna see players allowed to get excited when they score a td, and some mean mother making some hits.

The game is constantly evolving, always has been but I have a lot of the same sentiment as most that the game can't be made any safer without ruining it. There is nowhere else to go. I'm still trying to understand why they even kickoff anymore. That was one of the most exciting parts of the game, knowing there was almost always a chance to break one. There is almost no chance of that now.

I cant stand Goodell but to blame him for ruining the game is short sighted imo.
His leash is held by the owners and they like what is happening so its on them imo. A friendlier game, more ad breaks and more points scored means more money in league coffers. Like most other big sports its a business first anf Sport later.
I feel the same in soccer over here, its 24/7 saturation. With multiple camera angles to see every play and the umps/refs have a harder job with having to enforce the softer rules. 20-30 years ago you would only see one angle on tv unlike todays multi angle frame by frame, you would accept calls that today look wrong.

These new softer games(both football and soccer) the saturation coverage and pri madona players push me away from big team sports and more towards my other love of combat sports. Two fighters, one ring/cage who cant just phone in a performance because they want a better contract. Yes there are issues with judges and some refs but they are great sports

OK, I completely understand trying to make the game safer. But seriously, how about better equipment for the players instead of outlawing the very thing that made the game popular in the first place, and that is hard hitting???

i've been a saints fan since day one, and i will be till the day they cremate me.

if this is your last season as a fan, just leave now. bye. we need the disloyal, fair weather fans to leave.

i applaud your honesty in admitting you're disloyal. you should move to atlanta or dallas. you'll fit right in there.

the NFL has become "roger goodell yuppie flag football" because fans allowed that.

i blame the fans.

A pivotal play in the game was when Colston was called for Pass interference on a first down catch by Cooks . I replayed it many times and don't see the PI. You can see the scripting if you are looking for it.

Man I was just going to say Choupique in 1...2...3... HAHAHAHA You beat me.

If you are a fan of sports in general, you have to realize there is always going to be the other teams you are playing and a lot of time they will deserve to win too. This does not affect some of us here on the board and some it does.

One thing is for sure, I will be a Saints fan and at B&G until I get banned or die.
