As for the long TD. Sure that got the crowd back in it but we play into it by not running out some of the clock. You don't throw a pick in that instance. Take the sack and punt it and make them play a long field. A highschool QB knows this but our HOF QB seems to have forgotten it.

Yep interception was a bad decision and his fault but you also have to credit the Lions D for that pick. One thing I didn't see are those stupid ASS pitches he makes when he's going down trying to avoid the sack and get something going. He is horrible about that but you could tell yesterday he was making a conscious effort to NOT do that.
As for him being paid, his contract was just as much for what he has already done by helping us get to a SB than what he is going to do in the future.
We have always had a high risk high reward type offense and now age and the talent level of a lot of our players are making it difficult for us to continue that with winning results.

some adults realize that any given team can win on any given sunday.

most adults can't qualify to play or coach. most would be crushed on the field in one play. there would be no NFL if the average guy was on any given team. think of it as roger goodell going out for a pass.

what is very common is for average human beings to judge NFL teams, coaches and players. that is akin to telling a pilot how to fly a plane when you don't have a license. those opinions don't amount to a pile of diddleysquat in a hurricane.

no one player can be faulted. it is a team sport. there are many instances in every game, every weekend that "one guy" messes up, but they can't really be faulted. look at all the good **** they do.

none of us can, or have... fought with a team through a NFL season much less have any of us won a super bowl. we can't really relate to what they experience.

we don't all think the same.

i don't tell pilots how to fly a plane but i'll tell fans they're not qualified to judge a pilot.

two dat.

Effort was good yesterday. Execution was bad in key moments. Refs were horrible. KRob had 3 plays in the first half. A hard run for a first down. A hard run and fumble. And a pass play. Ridiculous. Feed the hot guy. I know Detroits run defense is good. But, you have to make them play the run. You have to make the DLine come off blocks and tackle. You have to not let them just pin their ears back and rush every play. You have to make the LB's flow and tackle. Not just blitz or drop back. You have to make the safties look in the backfield and come up closer to the line. Not just immediately drop in coverage. The Saints need to set up the pass with the run. Payton does not and apparantly never will get this. I understand everyone's disappointment in the Brees pick. He's great. But, he's asked to do TOO much. He shouldn't have it ALL on his shoulders. That's Payton's fault. The Cowboys and and their coach get it. Run the ball. Run to set up the pass. Run the ball and keep a less than talented defense off the field as much as possible. Don't be so predictable and put your talented QB in better positions to make plays. The good news is these things can be improved/fixed and with the NFC not going through Seattle, and playing in a horrible division, the door is still WIDE OPEN.

It seems the Saints team is contrary this season. So contrary that it is addling the brains of Who Dats.
We see that the passing game is working really well, but we go into meltdown for rushing plays when rushing plays up to that stage of the game has stagnated the offense.
It is not the type of play, on offense or defense, that is killing us. It is the execution and errors.
The game is very different if Corey White just get his hands on the pass to Tate, if Drew Brees throws the ball out of bounds when under pressure, etc.

The defense really gave up one TD. The PI call on Bush was BS. The short field on the last drive was fuled by the pick.

It just sucks that the team plays decent ball for 56 minutes and then craps out down the stretch.

It's time to start wondering if any Saints 4th quarter lead is safe. To be 2-3 after leading in the 4th quarter is distressing.

Man, Brees did "killed" us with that interception. He also "saved" us with that throw for the Stills. He also "killed" us with (drop in another play). He also "saved" us on the 3rd down rush.
Ad nauseum.

Brees was 2 -7, after he threw that pick he just completely fell apart. He had that look on his face that said he was done for the day. When he gets that weird look in his eyes, you know the game is over.

I thought the defense for the most part came to play and had a good week of preparation. We need to learn how to finish/destroy teams when we have a lead.

Did anyone notice how Denver kept their foot on the throat of San Fran last night?. They never let up even when up by two TDs. If we can do this moving forward, we will be fine.

Time to focus on Green Bay.

the guys better be pissed
the guys better come out with passion and a sense of desperation at home against Green Bay

Colston didn't even try to come back to that ball and catch or knock it out

unacceptable

They started running the football and slowing down when it was 35:10. Till then it was all about fast tempo and Peyton's passing game.
