5 Reasons the 49ers will beat the Saints

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Was this a blog? Poorly written, and not much logic applied: The Saints average more carries (30.8 vs. 22.3 in losses) and more yards (136.5 vs 122.5 in losses) so this guy is making a big deal about a net ...

Poorly written, and not much logic applied:
The Saints average more carries (30.8 vs. 22.3 in losses) and more yards (136.5 vs 122.5 in losses) so this guy is making a big deal about a net of 14 yards a game, and our avg is apparently lower in wins
If the 49ers are able to keep that laser focus What?? I hope they do keep the focus that they had when they lost by 25 and then came off a bye to lose at home to a backup QB and the Rams

Re: 5 Reasons the 49ers will beat the Saints

Some common sense stuff here & dead horse-beating (not a crime, I think?), but:

Keep the crowd engaged from the 1st snap
Win the turnover battle.
Defense keeps the Whiners at 3rd and more than 7
Defense keeps Colin Douchbag from scrambling more than 30 yards total in the game
Defense limits Bolden's & Davis' YAC
O-Line keeps Brees from getting sacked more than once
O-Line wins 3rd & short--early and often
Run the ball for a 3 yard per carry average 1st half, 4-5 yard average in the 2nd half
Limit Whiners' special teams returns
Score more points than the Whiners by the end of the game.
Make Harbaugh whine that the crowd was too loud and that the NFL has only and will only persecute his Santa Clara Whiners.

The last time the San Francisco 49ers played the New Orleans Saints they left the Mercedes-Benz Superdome feeling cheated and robbed. With 3:12, left on the clock and a 20-17 lead, Ahmad Brooks delivered what seemed like a game clinching sack fumble only to have it nullified by a questionable Unnecessary Roughness penalty. Many 49ers were visibly disturbed by the call and that perceived robbery could translate into some real motivation on the field this Sunday.

4.) NFC West Desperation
Currently the San Francisco 49ers are third in the NFC West and are only one game above being dead last. The 49ers have already equaled last year’s loss total and more importantly appear to be on the outside looking in for the NFC Playoff Picture. The 49ers trail the Cardinals by 3 games and have a losing record within the division; it seems their only shot at the playoffs will be a wildcard berth. A loss this Sunday will be a fourth NFC loss and the 49ers playoff hopes cannot afford that.

3.)Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers
The San Francisco 49ers defense ranks 10th, in the NFL, in forcing turnovers with 13 turnovers forced this season (9 INTs & 4 Fum.). The New Orleans Saints offense ranks 7th, in the league, in giveaways, a statistic that could play a pivotal role in who wins this game. In the last 3 meetings, between these two teams, the 49ers have forced the Saints into 10 turnovers not including last years reversed sack fumble. If the giving Saints hand the 49ers defense the ball, as history suggest, Sunday’s outcome will heavily favor the road team.

2.)Rushing Defense
The New Orleans Saints success this season has been tied to the running game. The Saints average more carries (30.8 vs. 22.3 in losses) and more yards (136.5 vs 122.5 in losses). Lucky for the 49ers, their rushing defense has been one of the more stout units in the NFL. This season, through 8 games, the 49ers are allowing a 5th best 85.6 yards per game on the ground. The stingy 49ers have only surrendered 5 scores on the ground. If the 49ers plan to halt the resurgent Saints the rushing defense may be the key.

1.) 3 Game Slide
For most NFL teams, in the playoff hunt, losing two games in a row can be a death sentence, but for this bunch it may be a God send. Under Jim Harbaugh, the 49ers have never lost three consecutive games. In fact in three games following a second straight loss, the team is giving up only 12.7 points while scoring 29.3. Since Harbaugh arrived, the 49ers have been a resilient and tough minded team. If the 49ers are able to keep that laser focus this Sunday against the Saints, chances are they will avoid the dreaded three game slide yet again.

5 Reasons the San Francisco 49ers will beat the New Orleans Saints - Crescent City Kings
Your team is currently the 4th best team in its division, in my view. You can't win without excessive help from the refs and your coach is a maniac. And Colin has turned out to be a huge BUST.

But other than that, the 49ers are great!

Saints win easily 38 - 17. The 49ers no longer have the players on defense who really used to bother Brees.

Re: 5 Reasons the 49ers will beat the Saints

49ers have internal dissension which will kill a team every time. Saints are getting in a groove and Coach is getting his mojo back. Still gotta remember Vic Fangio used to hang his hat in NO and he will come after Brees all day.

5) B.S.

4) Total B.S.

3) Saints need to pay attention here.

2) Also, an area of needed attention with 2 RBs down -- but not anxiety provoking especially at home.

1) See 4 & 5.

Re: 5 Reasons the 49ers will beat the Saints

I'm actually a life long New Orleans resident and Saints fan. I did a five reasons for each team to win.
5.) if you read it says the 49ers felt cheated. Go back and read the post game comments.
4.) Speaks to the desperation of their current situation. The Saints will face a team facing elimination Sunday. For whatever that's worth.
3.) This point focuses on recent history between the two teams. 10 TOs in 3 games is nothing to sniff at.
2.) Everyone knows the 49ers play solid defense regardless of missing pieces.
1.) The ability for a team to bounce back is a reflection of their coach. In 2013 the 49ers lost two games by a combined 56-10 and rebounded to win 11 out of 13. That's no accident.

As far as being poorly written, lol, who cares I do this for free. I'll argue sports with anyone. By the way here's why the Saints will when. (Includes my prediction)

Not really about the yards, more about the attempts.

The balance of the article is "Whiners have an incentive to win"

There are burn victims who need some skin, of which this author is clearly a waste

Sorry man, didn't realize you wrote it. I wouldn't have made the 49er fan comment.

Just goes to show how defensive we'll get over our team. No hard feelings meant.
