(da-da-daaa ~the suspense builds~, ) ... though I do feel that's how it's gonna' shake out if DET pulls their annual second-half implosion act ... the NFC North also may wind up being decided Wk #17 @ Lambeau and I really don't see the Lions winning there in December ... and I dunno', I think you give Stanton too much credit. Prior to Palmer being out, I pegged this one as a Lions' road loss, but Stanton being in there tilts the scales against the Cards the rest of the way. He's great for a game or two but has a hard time putting together a longer stretch.

excerpts from the Lions Live Gameday Thread:
Except in the superdome the lions really do have no shot. We should have won in Detroit and we didn't. Considering the lions lack playoff experience and have a QB who gets sacked a ton how can they suddenly win their first playoff game on the road against a seasoned playoff team? It is just not likely to happen. And this game will be on television for me too.

If it did happen it will because of the receivers they have. Which is why the saints are going to have to run the ball and get Graham involved.

Yeah, I tend to agree and my advice to Lions slappies was that if they couldn't win convincingly at home in Wk #7 vs a quality team, not to get too excited about the playoffs. You guys talk about losing the last three games by nine pts? The Lions have won the last three by 6, not exactly the mark of a dominant team. The first thing that popped into my head after that game was that DET would be a wildcard heading to the Dome in the first round & the results would probably differ. The biggest difference between a potential matchup this postseason and 2011 are the additions of Golden Tate, Glover Quin, James Ihedigbo & a few other veterans/coaches, so lack of playoff experience may not be as big an issue as one may think. It's all about Drew Brees, IMO.

"Never get too high, never get too low" ~ Jim Caldwell, H/C Detroit Lions ... first time I've ever seriously quoted a Detroit Lions coach, . If anything, that's all I wanted to get across to you guys in that game.
