Re: 2015 draft??
The only reason that was fresh on my mind is because PFT had an article the other day about how the winner of the NFC South would be losers come draft day because they'd be picking lower than lots of teams with better records.

I would target in the 20s Benardrick McKinney ILB second option Danny Shelton NT maybe? Also do you draft a RT that can move to OG in the first? I say yes. both OG are now up there in age and there contracts are making them more appealing to be cap causalities. who knows win the starting RT position right out the gate maybe. draft another one to groom and if the football goods are on your side when it is time to switch players all the pieces fall into place with out missing a beat. La'el Collins - he is a homer everyone knows him. RT all the way. better run blocker than pass blocker. has issues with speed and is ok in recovering when beat Ty Sambrailo - Rot all the way also. I like this kid. probably the better pass blocker of the two. I like his recovery when beat. great at pushing the defender wide. better foot work in my opinion. More than anything else he plays nasty. he has a mean streak to him that Collins does not have. their run blocking about the same. hands down the pancake king of the two. ranking difference? colorado st vs lsu. level of competition. In the big picture if the top two are gone i go ROT as a pick towards the future. right now Ty Sambrailo get the nod IMO. Benardrick McKinney ILB/OLB Danny Shelton NT ? Ty Sambrailo ROT/OG Nate Orchard DE/OLB is my a wild card. i want to see how does when the beauty contests starts. senior bowl and combine stuff. as an OLB he has all the skills you look for. but raw raw raw. converted WR. Utah did not know what to do with kid. he has played all over the place because of his skill sets. So there is a reach factor here and some hype but if i had to pick one to keep an eye on it is this kid. opposite of JR on passing downs could be something to see. I like him more than i do Alvin Dupree of Kentucky. just too much hype and ceiling talk for my liking with little to back it all up with plus he is more of a true DE IMO. Nate has the production to justify the hype if that is ever really possible |

Re: 2015 draft??
Let me say that I'm more a SEC Homer more than a LSU homer even as a Louisiana native, resident...
I even pull for the Tide when they appear the best option; though I don't suck the tailpipe for the Crimson and holler "Roll Tide" for entertainment... That said, La'el Collins is a beast and his issues are coachable; great character, tremendous size and strength; he would add an immediate level of toughness to the Saints Offensive Line... |

Re: 2015 draft??
- i still have a solid man cover CB or two at the top of the wish list. For the biggest bang for the buck this team would improve the most with a CB that does not demand safety help the entire game. got some really nice #2 CB prospects in this draft IMO. It would free the safeties up to support elsewhere.
- RT needs a hit for sure. It is right up there with CB. Speed rushers off both ends by the elite defenses in the NFL are killing us. I love Streif but I think the the style of defense played today in the NFL is just a bit to focused on stopping the passer and wears him down. as veteran swing man in the backup role he has a few years left in him. which would be huge upgrade to what we have now and would buy us some time. La'el Collins game reminds me of Streif style. But I do like his size and the flex option he offers of sliding into the guard position when we are ready for a changing of the guard inside. Ty Sambrailo also offer us that flexibility - K.J. Wright is dream pick up for the off season. I want his clone if he resigns with seattle. that is why i am watching Nate Orchard so closely Then i ponder moving Harilson into the middle, who with out a doubt is our best all around LB. but can he man the middle. i think he could. possibly? maybe? We can get all three in the first 3 rounds i think, |

Re: 2015 draft??
I'd like to see La'el Collins in the first round. Put him next to Terron Armstead and the keft side of the line would be amazing. Kenny Hilliard in the 6th or 7th would be great unless we could get Hilliard as a free agent. How can the Saints be one of the only NFL teams with no LSU payers? After Cooks last year our draft was terrible. We could've drafted Jarvis Landry and Ego Ferguson last year. Both currently are solid starters at need positions.

Re: 2015 draft??
I'd like not to draft a cornerback with an early round pick because our talent evaluators seem incapable of making the right selection...
The only success we've had was in free agency periods which I'd prefer that route regarding cornerback, having a proven commodity... I'd like to see us focus on the front lines, offensive and defense (front seven) - we no longer control nor or tough enough on the lines... |
