Re: 2015 draft??
i like the clemson connection too. i fear being small on both wings big time.
draft both but Jr will need to go IMO. you need at least one OLB that can be stout against the run. trade Jr and pick up Vic Beasley then long shot at Alvin Dupree in round 1. longest of long shots. trade up twice in round 1? lets look at other options Round 2 Danielle Hunter LSU might be a solid move. project as a pass rusher sure but solid against the run and above average at blocking passes. on the the flip Eli out of Virgina is the opposite. better at rushing than the rush. Danielle gets my vote. so trade back into 2 wild card developmental down the road Round 5 Emanuel Robinson Newberry. talked about him earlier and i still come back to him. coverage skills are there to work with and solid instincts. two years down the road he maybe a steal. Round 7 Shaq Riddick West Virgina is another. just a high motor guy with plenty of upside i could live with Vic Beasley - i think is a pipe dream Stephone Anthony Danielle Hunter some serious wheeling and dealing to make this happen and Jr and the Bears look to be part of the picture. |

Re: 2015 draft??
In my draft mocks, I really like the idea of taking Clemson's Vic Beasley and protecting him with a monster at DE like Iowa's Carl Davis - that'd become one feared dynamic side of a d-line overnight...
After Davis, another guy who could lock down the end and allow Beasley to roam and wreak havoc is Stanford's Henry Anderson, 3rd-4th round... Another Clemson alum, DE Corey Crawford would also be a good fit for the 3-4 defense and could be had in the fifth-sixth round... Again, we don't need the d-linemen to do anything but occupy blockers and allow the OLB to seek/destroy... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2015 draft??
I read that Carl Davis came acrossed pretty bad in interviews at the Senior Bowl. Sounded like he was really lazy and openly talked about taking plays off. I haven't watched any tape of him though... What does the tape say?

Re: 2015 draft??
I read the same thing. A 3 down player is needed on the nose.

Re: 2015 draft??
Davis is immovable; tape confirms it...
He's not a heavy stat guy... Misinformation is probably out there on him because teams like NE would love to grab him at the end of the first round... Watch the film - it was very rare he wasn't double-teamed and as rare that he wasn't occupying holding up those linemen for fellow defenders to make plays... |

Re: 2015 draft??
What do people think of Darren Waller. Looks a interesting prospect. If he was there rounds 4/5 i really consider making a move.
Darren Waller*(WR) HT:*6'6"* WT:*238LBS. POSITION:*WR SCHOOL:*Georgia Tech ARM LENGTH:*33 1/4" HANDS:*9" Overview Suspended for season-opening games in both 2013 and 2014 (suspended two games total in 2014) for violation of team rules. Invited to play in 2015 East-West Shrine Game. In 2014, started the final eight games of the season and scored a touchdown in each of his final three games, including an Orange Bowl win over Mississippi State where he finished with five catches for 114 yards. From 2011-13, made 14 starts and played in 38 games. Was a two-year team captain in high school, playing both wide receiver and defensive back. COMBINE STATS 40 YARD DASH:*4.46 SEC BENCH PRESS:*12 REPS VERTICAL JUMP:*37.0 INCH BROAD JUMP:*125.0 INCH 3 CONE DRILL:*7.07 SEC 20 YARD SHUTTLE:*4.25 SEC 60 YARD SHUTTLE:*11.35 SEC ANALYSIS Strengths Yet another Georgia Tech receiver with great length. Plays to his height. Gathers himself and boxes out defenders on fades and jump balls. Uses long arms and gets on his ladder to sky over cornerbacks and high point throws. Effortless strider with untapped vertical speed to go yard. Plus body control. Usually gets two feet in bounds on sideline throws. Plucks the ball with extended hands. Doesn't fear hits from safeties. Almost impossible to guard on back-shoulder throws. Confident and competitive when the ball is in the air. Weaknesses Will lose speed when turning to locate ball. Shield blocker in run game, giving very modest effort by Georgia Tech standards. Raw route runner with limited exposure to complex routes. Rounds off in-breaking and out routes. Needs improved understanding of leverage and how to create separation with it. Allows smaller cornerbacks to crowd him. Forced just two pass-interference calls over the last two seasons. Limited production and targets over career. Draft Projection Round 3 or 4 Bottom Line Late bloomer who is faster than quick and has coveted size-speed combination. Waller isn't just a tall receiver, he has legitimate hands and body control and can impose his size on mismatched cornerbacks. Waller has a low floor, but with a little more competitive fire and technique work, he could become a legitimate touchdown maker in the league |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!
