this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; In the first who goes to the bench Allen, Watson, or Bockwoldt. I know it depends on which Lb we draft, so say we draft Burnett(OLB), who goes to the pine?I am torn on this one all three have played ...

IF we do draft a Lb....
I think the O-line needs more help and then the inside d-line, then LB. the rookies proved they can play.

I agree with you if Burnett is not on the board, but if he is and we take him who rides the pine

Bockwoldt, obviously sits. He is a backup 7th round pick.

Actually, after doing some research Bockwoldt would sit..not because he is a 7th rd pick, but because Burnett is better suited to play weak side which is where Colby plays.
Allen, Watson, Burnett???? |

Allen is a too little too late player for me. Let him sit. Let Bockwoldt continue to play. Kid plays with fire.

Why is it people always start talking about the draft the second the season ends? You know how the Saints are going to improve immediately? Through free agency. You want a starting linebacker who can make an impact? He\'s already playing he\'s not coming from the draft.

Just draft talk WHoDat. There are numerous linebakcer sin free agency we COULD go for, but when have we ever done it? We probably feel our only chance at a good lb will be through the draft, although obviously free agency would be a better option. We didn\'t get Gold last year cause of money, he was a stud. We didn\'t get Trotter and he sat out there forver, he was a stud, we never made an offer. Why would they start this year?

This organization does OK with the draft (not phenomenal, but OK). It is our mis-management and disregard of free agents because we might \"overspend\" that leaves us handicapped on draft day. I agree that if we want to fix the Linebacker situation, then we need to sign 1 or 2 of the very good UFA LBs available this year. Kendrell Bell and Edgarton Hartwell would be wonderful additions to this team. If this organization sits on its hands through free agency again, then we\'ll know LONG before draft day that they are happy to be 8-8 and happy to be 8-8 again. |
