What I should have put my finger on was the "O-F-F" button. Nah...could never bring myself to do that.

Yeah their motivation shouldn't have to come from a pre game chant. It Should come from what Barry pretty much just said...we love this team so much, and the loyalty & passion runs SO deep through this community...That alone Should be the motivation everyone needs to perform at a championship level. Obviously though, not everyone is like that. part of where the frustration lies, you want (& expect) the same enthusiasm you give, from the team you watch & pull for. It sucks ballz when you don't see it.

I hope this Saints Era's legacy isn't the astoundingly fast fall from grace we are witnessing. I hope more than anything they can right this ship before sinking it. Because to me, it's kind of soured the entire Brees/Payton Era. I know some may flame that comment, but that's how I feel right now. I hope it changes.

It's because the game has "evolved", . Used to be guys just went out there and worried about blocking & tackling ... .

I would imagine it is hard to get up to the level needed with what has transpired this season. Winning the division and moving up to the next level where you don't believe you have a chance is a hard sell.
This team bought into the hype and has been totally deflated. It would be a total 360 to get where they need to be.
But hey, stranger things have happened. Keep the faith until the end.

Re: STRIEF: Pregame locker room tells how well or poorly the Saints play

Throughout most of my career I was so excited that I had to pee before stepping on the rugby pitch. Now, it's more like a calm comes over me and I say to myself "I've Got This" before stepping on the rugby pitch. I find that things work out better if I avoid the highs and lows and just ball out.

I am still motivated although I am not highly motivated. I have an excuse though.......as a general rule rugby players start drinking before the game.
