Toon stepping up. Cooks back next year. Saunders gaining yards.

Bye Joe.

This means absolutely nothing. I'd like to see more meaningful changes. This guy was in doghouse from day one.

That's on coaches.
Sean should take one hard look in the mirror. I hope he did...

Morgan was a surprise... I mean he ran some bad routes but did he drop any passes?

Must be a locker-room issue with him as well. I hope more cuts are coming.

I wonder if Drew got called in as well.

Re: Joe Morgan Waived

We'll see what else happens, but this is kinda typical Payton OCD. Shiny object distracts him, and incurs his wrath, and that's all he sees or remembers. The one who was already on the rocks, gets made the sacrificial lamb. It's almost like he went to the coaches and said, "Find me somebody to fire, who won't affect the team too much!" Oh well. The real problem is clearly systemic, it' s not just one guy. Payton can't really fire or impulsively cut his way out of it.

I wouldn't add Saunders to the list,he was the one faint glimmer of light in that game. The first kick returner to actually make a return in a long time

Not enough. Fire LB Coach Joe Vitt and Special Teams Coach Greg McMahon and I'll believe change might happen. And that would only be a start.

Not at all surprised to see Joe waived. I'm not really sure why it took this long. The only surprise for me is that is wasn't a defensive player.

At least hrs addressing something. He's pissed off. Good.

The Axman Cometh. Some unemployment checks need to start circulating among some position coaches, defensive players, special teams coordinators, defensive captains, etc.

Couldn't agree more

Cutting a guy that has been inactive for 10 weeks is not enough, coaches and other players need to go.

Exactly. When I heard about the JM release, I was like..REALLY!! yeah..that solves so many problems. I mean..duuuh..he misses so many tackles, is always out of position and...huh..ooohhh he don't play defense. SB here we come now..we got rid of the BIGGEST problem on the team and put others on notice. NFL teams should be scared now!

Morgan was part of the immaturity issue... But that can't be the only move we make today. I know I'll be hitting refresh a lot these next few hours.

so where are the rest of the cuts. Come on this entire team has major issues. Staff all the way through the core of the team.

A different Saints fan forum is posting that Morgan came to team meetings intoxicated.

Kids got talent but injuries and off the field problems spelled Doom. It is a damn shame but you have to cut your losses at some point.

Awesome, the guy who has no impact on any games is the first to go. I'll wait for some news that matters.

If we waive a defensive player we won't have enough players to field a defense at this point. Colston has shat the bed more this year than Morgan. He actually had some good plays recently. Makes me wonder if Colston had held onto that pass in the first game vs. ATL how much different the season could have been. That was rhetorical BTW. Big game in Chicago. We need to show up.

Somebody better fire RR, and then Fire Venturie because it makes me feel better

wonderful ... lol I had bought his jersey for my gf 2 years ago.... eghhh maybe we will draft a another WR last name Morgan

spkb25 12-09-2014 05:34 PM

Re: Joe Morgan Waived

Look, you can't just start firing people when you have the cap to consider. So that's first of all. Second, had he not done anything people would ***** about that. Now he hasn't cut enough players. I am quite sure there are a few others he'd like to get rid of, but can't.

I will agree with someone on here, how about we toss a few coaches around, send some real shockwaves. They don't count against the cap.

this 1000x

Our defense is absolutely awful and your head-coach says changes are coming to the line-up.... so the first guy gone is your 4th string WR.

Really...

Come on, man...

We better be making more changes than that...

If the problem is locker room poison it doesn't matter what side of the ball they're on. You get rid of them.
