Do yourself a favor and don't re-watch Saints' dreadful loss to Carolina: Film Study
A word of warning for this week's version of "Film Study." The New Orleans Saints' showing in the team's 41-10 loss to Carolina in Week 14 at home manufactured just about zero shred of positive critiquing.
In all seriousness, the two punt returns by Jalen Saunders were some of the only uplifting aspects for the Saints to pull from the debauchery that was the team's performance last Sunday. I put off watching the film from this game as long as I could. There's not even a theme to this Film Study. It's all bad. But I'll remain a team player, suck it up and bring you all of lows from Sunday's embarrassment by the Saints. NOTABLE BREAKDOWNS First quarter Cam Newton 21-yard run (Second and 5, Panthers' 43, 14:08) ![]() This was only the third offensive snap of the game. It showed from the onset how the Saints' defense wasn't ready for the run game Carolina brought with them. It especially showed how the Saints weren't ready for the read option.
