Sunseri should be ready next year with Byrd. With Dixon showing signs of promise and Warren flying around(Byrd's apprentice) I likd of like what I see at the least in some positions solid back-ups if not a starter in Sunseri and Dixon. We carried enough S's this year to be able to see what's there and whats not, even if we got depleted or not. I in no way shape or form think that Vaccaro getting singled out that he and the rest of the team are not going to be given a free-pass to play like sh!t and get away with it.

I think it's possible that the article about benching Vaccaro could have just been Payton trolling Vaccaro and the media....It's been kind of obvious in the pressers that Payton really has it in for the media this year. It's a good way to punk out both the reporters AND the underperforming players, to deliberately have someone plant a story like Vaccaro getting benched, and let it fly off like a birdie and go viral....let Vaccaro hear about it through the media, and wonder WTF is going on...it seems to have calmed down Junior's petulant fingers typing on his phone, too...

Good point...Junior & KVac are all about the social media apparently. KVac certainly cares what is said & written about him. Self-image is sacred to KVac and Payton peed on that for him. Now maybe KVac will start tackling.

Called the Corey White thing, like you, I think it may be a better fit for him.

Really want them to give SJB a shot, looked great in pre-season yet he isn't even active on game day. They guy plays press-man very well, what more is there to learn, "Hey 33 go cover #81, like you did in college for 2 years". Oh wait, I forgot we don't know how to develop defensive talent.

SJB didn't really play great in preseason

He got beat quite easily by the rams 3rd string team for a TD, he grabbed a pick when a WR batted the pass into the air

Plus we played him vs lions, he was in for one play and his coverage assignment scored a TD.

If the coaching staff won't even put him in on special teams it sounds like a hell of a reach in the second round for a guy that isn't even close to being ready.

It seems like our guys don't show how good they are until their contract year.

I heard him say he started at nickel last year and one challenge he faced this year was learning a new role. I think he is going back to nickel but like you I have know idea who will take over.
