Like it or not, this team is STILL immersed in its own nostalgia for the Super Bowl year. They are still riding that trophy into the sunset for as long as possible. Benson, Loomis, Payton, the veterans on the coaching staff, the scouts, all of them -- it pervades the whole organization. No way that changes until a lot of other things change first.

I do have to agree with everything you said mostly about them still riding the trophy into the sunset. But that is where I'm having a problem. There have been to many seasons before that glorious 2009 trophy was raised and 5 more since it was hoisted. We have been in pretty much a decline since, except for the 2011 season(I thought that was by far the best team we ever had) instead of upgrading we went down alot. I don't care if they are still vasking in the 2009 run they deserve to be to a point but just to a point. I don't want to be a 1 hit wonder. I really don't want to be the NFC South or NFL laughing stock so if they continue to vask in the 2009 season and don't improve they can all tell their story in a bar room or wherever their fired aSS's are if they don't right the ship. I like Payton and I like Loomis but I loved my Saints way longer than they have been here and will love my Saints way after they are gone.
