Joe Morgan: 'I wasn't a part' of the New Orleans Saints' future plans

Obviously a hot topic this week was Morgan being cut by the Saints and why it happened. The wideout said it was a business decision coach Sean Payton made and he wishes the players and organization nothing but success.

"Sean basically told me it was a decision by the team, it wasn't anything I did," he said. "A lot of people been saying it's my off-field issues or whatever, I'm not a troubled guy, Sean even told me that in the meeting I had with him. It's nothing to do with the off-field issues, it was basically the team making a decision based off what they like and they are making plans for the future and unfortunately I wasn't a part of that.

Are you in any NFL teams plans. You had a great job, you threw it away. Dumb just plain dumb.

Still hate to see him go like that. Every time he's on the girls I feel like a big play is about to happen. I was so stoked to see Kenny stills, cooks and a healthy Morgan. That seemed like an unstoppable combination with all that speed. Wish him the best of luck

Ok, I really wasn't there so I'll take him at his word, ... nice job on Toys-for-Tots, .

This does, of course, leave one to ponder just exactly what the Saints "future plans" are ... does it mean they'll be focusing more on running the ball and just didn't need the extra weight at WR?

I heard he had immaturity issues and was talking to reporters like "he'd made it" which really annoyed some people

That and the fact that he consistently turned up late and drunk for meetings.

I wish him the best.

Ill never kick a guy when he is down. Hope he matures and becomes a star.

Nobody wishes the guy ill-will, but part of the maturation process is being able to man-up and accept how your individual actions, or lack of, may have contributed to your release instead of deferring responsibility in a ridiculous statement about where the organization is headed. A good kick is probably what some of these jokers need most, IMO.

How can one say a young, talented WR would not be part of the Saints' future plans? The fact no one is picking him up speaks volumes.
