The NFC South may yet be won be a team without a losing record.
The New Orleans Saints kept that possibility alive with a 31-15 victory over the imploding Chicago Bears on Monday night. Drew Brees shredded the Bears Defense for 375 yards and three touchdowns as the Saints made easy work of the Bears. Brees tossed two touchdowns to tight end Josh Hill and a third to receiver Marques Colston. Four different receivers had at least five catches for the Saints. Mark Ingram also scored on a 15-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Bears Offense was a train wreck against a defense that entered the night ranked 31st in the league. Chicago managed just 207 yards of offense and a pair of garbage time touchdowns against the Saints. Cutler was intercepted three times – twice by Pierre Warren – and sacked seven times on the night. Cutler now has 18 interceptions on the year, moving him past Blake Bortles for the league lead. Cutler tossed touchdown passes to Marquess Wilson and Alshon Jeffery in the fourth quarter when the game was well out of reach. The victory moves the Saints to 6-8 with two weeks to play and into sole possession of first place in the division. They are the only team in the South that can finish with a .500 record. link back |

Defense showed up. That was great. Drew was money.
Oh by the way, I hope we have the same defensive personnel next week against Atlanta. |

D was outstanding... we need to replicate that against good offenses though. I did like the new schemes and personnel moves. Fredrick is still a unknown although I like what I saw. The big change was blitzing more from the inside and mixing it up... why did it take so long.

The key is to not get ahead of ourselves. Put a lid on it and know what the task is at hand. We beat Atlanta next week and we all but secure the South.
I'm definitely excited! |

Fresh horses in the secondary helps this late in the season. They played like they were playing for a job too. That said, Atlanta is a better team than the Bears, so there is much left to prove.
