The final four games might have been meaningless wins for the Team as far as thier Play-off lives went..But..Not so meaningless are the 4 wins that got the League buzz around that New Orleans may have had a shot...let me explain...

Unfortunately..not everyone who holds the destiny of this franchise staying in New Orleans watches football.., or even cares about it at all..they are buisnessmen...and all they care about is the bottom line..and..with the Illusion put on by the final 4 games...many of these pencil pushers have somehow gotten the idea tht we were a good team..and could very well turn in huge revenue..if given the right environment..like..a new/updated stadium...and they are right...but for the wrong reasons....

The State is now trying to hussle up some cash for the deal..and are right now preparing a deal that will keep the Saints where they belong...

So..It really wasn't a meaningless streak...Infact.., It may have been the 4 biggest wins the Franchise has ever had.

I just hope we see it come together..It will lessen the sting of a horrible year..and free our thoughts of relocation...because it is a very real threat till the deal is signed..

I hate the fact that a new team is even bieng mentioned..I like things the way they are now...heck..why don't the Raiders just go back to LA..and stop all this... Al Davis...swallow your pride and go home

Or better yet, stuff the 49er\'s into the toilet and flush them down there. Folks in San Francisco would probably be happy to be rid of them, and the rest of the NFL would no longer have to worry about their teams being stolen.

But seriously, if the 4-game streak had any effect at all on negotiations (and I assume it did), bully for us. Whatever keeps the team in New Orleans is good by me...

This is a feeling, a guess, what? What exactly are you basing these comments on?

I do agree that the streak may have put us in peoples consciousness in a positive way. I still feel queasy about a deal, every poll they show have about 7% of the population voting for the Saints, and the rest against them. Outside of New Orleans, the people all suck, they all have a grudge for some reason. That\'s not to say all of them, as I do live in Baton Rouge, graduated from LSU, but still pull more for the Saints than I do for the Tigers.

Well..Look at the Facts...

Noone was wanting to budge on either side of the negotiations..we both know that...and it seems now that the State is jumping through hoops to get this deal done now..right now..

People like Arnold Fielklow make the important decisions for this team, and it\'s future...He\'s a Buisinessman..not an athelete...I doubt he ever has been , and I\'m sure he never will be...but..he knows his numbers...Do I think only ex atheletes should be included in the Teams operation?..no..but..It doesn\'t change the fact that that\'s how it goes not only in this field..but most fields..a few specialized areas in nearly all of the major companies in the US hold people who know little about the actual product sold...nevertheless, they are often the ones making the big decisions...

Take Phillip Morris for example..I happen to know..that very, very few Board Members actually smoke....Ironic?..not in this age

The same rule applies across the board, even in the world of sports

So you think the Saints final 4 wins is why the legislature is dealing with the Super Dome? It\'s not something that they\'ve been working on for months? Generally, do government offices produce much of anything during the holidays? I\'ve worked for two government offices. By mid-November, just about everything but budget planning stops. Come January, this start back up and everyone hits the New Year running, like this year things will really get done. The Saints winning those last four games isn\'t going to make the legislature all of a sudden decide that the team is a good investment. C\'mon.

I call them how I see them...nothing good was happening till we went on a win streak...Do I think that a teams win/loss record affect the financial side and forecasts of future finances?..yes...Do I think that other people believe this?..yes...Do I think the teams late season surge had something to do with the renewed vigor to get a deal done now?..yes .. simple as that..winning sells..even though we had another season of relative obscurity..we still won the right games at the right time...and got the needed attention to get some pressure on the State to secure this team in it\'s home State...It\'s undenyable...Jim Haslett..in all his faults and follies..may have saved this team ..Either way..These wins gave us the needed push to get a positive vibe about the team..and it\'s future..and..it\'s starting to show
