Corey White the free safety?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; This could have something to do with Sanford being injured as well... I don't think there is room for Vaccaro on this team now. Starting line-up for 2015 Byrd and Bush, the third safety should be Warren with Bush moving ...

Trade him while we can...

Re: Corey White the free safety?

I thought the draft scouts had him projected at strong safety/cb not free safety. But atleast he wont have to worry about turning his head looking for the ball.

I trust the coaches over anyone here who is screaming "gonna be painful to watch"...

They have seen him in practice at safety and if they feel he can do it, then let him do it.

Yes, I agree. White at corner was a epic failure.

Re: Corey White the free safety?

White played very well at a quasi-safety spot in preseason. He was still listed as a CB but the way he was lined up was more like the way we used Jenkins at times last year. I think this is a good idea. He always plays better with the ball in front of him anyway.

I know people are down on him right now but I still like him. Maybe not as a #2 corner anymore, but he plays hard, hits hard and has a nose for the ball. Those are really good qualities to have in a nickel/dime DB.

Can't be worse than his play at CB. I think this could work out for him

i think what everyone is missing is that the reason this is a story is that it probably foreshadows the departure of KV.

oh please no. one thing to make a pick that you need to think on how to use and it is another to kick a 1st rounder out on the curb after 2 years. then again we have seen how well some of our past players over the last two years are doing else where in the NFL. so it is obvious Rob is making all the right calls

No.

However, I could see White pushing Rafael Bush out of the rotation, especially since Bush only has one more year on his deal and White will come a lot cheaper. And they are very similar players.

Bingo. Rafael Bush will be trade bait or flat out cut. Corey White offers versatility as a back-up free safety who can play CB if needed.
