Re: My encounter with Sean Payton left me shaken

Why is this a story? It sounds a half step past totally routine. I'm thinking the reporter was quite startled though.

"Things are not always what they seem ... ". They used to teach "To Kill a Mockingbird" in schools to stress that point ... still one of my favorite old movies,

I don't know who this reporter is, but he/she clearly hasn't been in a real world situation before.

Another case where there is no story, so the reporter has to be the story. And that story always sucks.

If I were coach I'd be testy with all these dumb-a questions that get asked and the way the media is so repetitive.

You'd think at some point they'd get it - coaches are not happy after losses, they're not going to tell you much on injuries or upcoming game plans, and they usually don't care for armchair QBs with a mic and camera telling them what they could have done better right after a game.

Re: My encounter with Sean Payton left me shaken

always remember one thing 99% of the writers never played played pass high school

Of that 99 i am betting 50% did not make the cut

30 of the 50 are doing it for a living and have a working knowledge of the game at best. some get the job by way of marriage and/or cuteness or by other scrupulous means

most die hard fans know more about the nfl then most of the tape records they call reporters
