Remember this year and never forget it.
We all got a gut check in 2014. A slap in the face. We were made fools of since before the season even started.
This is the year we all got force fed by the media and put on blinders to What was really happening to this team. If the super bowl hang over is not over now there is no hope for the saints or it's fans. If god blesses you to see this while sitting a wheel chair drooling on yourself, consider yourself blessed. Never Settle! Never be happy with what you got! Always look for better! We lost sight of this and it has showed for longer than just 2014 season. A Super Bowl team like ours only come around once in a few life times. your kids maybe lucky to see their children bask in the joy it took us so long to see. You must win the division first and for most! The rest of the stuff will sort itself out after that fact! It is that simple. that is what ever team in the south has been doing. Drafting to beat the saints and win the division. now it has caught up with us and we can all see we have not done so well in that chess match. not one repeat division crown to go with the trophy. My dream looks to be officially dead. http://blackandgold.com/saints/66566...-one-done.html |

Re: Remember this year and never forget it.
The most disappointing thing for me wasn't even loosing games but it was tge way the team looked beat when things went against them. Too many players appeared to accept defeat without a fight. The players may talk in the media etc but too timid on the field. Where are the nasty players on the line?, where is our Steve Smith. The man that will fight and sweat blood on the field to make things happen. Sometimes you need a spark and it may need to be getting in somebodies face even if it causes the odd flag.

Re: Remember this year and never forget it.
Gonna be hard to forget a year getting swept by the Falcons. Especially being eliminated from a possible division title in our house by them. The Falcon fans won't let us forget this year for a while.
I agree with you that everyone from top to bottom bought into the hype of how good the team looked on paper. Lesson learned hopefully. Got some work to do for next year. |

Re: Remember this year and never forget it.
You could see this team had absolutely no resolve
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, if our team was down at half time or trailing by any amount, the players would never lose passion or stop trying, which led to a load of comeback wins in those years That's the difference between that team and this years, 2014 saints team got down by a TD and completely fell apart! |

I remember that as a team we were facing adversity from the start. We had training camp at that horrible facility where we fell apart because of the unbearable conditions. Oh wait, we went to Greenbriar and got soft.

Sorry Op there is nothing about this season I plan on remembering. Nothing. I even plan to delete all memories of my Greenbrier trip.

Personally, I would rather forget this year and never remember it.

Re: Remember this year and never forget it.
The bottom line is we didn't play well this year on either side of the ball and the other teams did their homework and played with more passion and spirit than we did.
At the start of the season the media told everyone that "expect to see the Saints in the late rounds of the playoffs or even at the Superbowl" or "The Saints look like the team to beat this season" . . . . . . . . Well, most of our opponents did beat us and made us look very, very ordinary! I think its going to take a few seasons before this team gets back to anywhere near how we used to play or remember them! Hope SP has some good plans ready and comes up with some new plays and ideas etc. because he's going to need them, . . . . . big time!!!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!! |
