The thing is, the Goodell bounty stuff is STILL in Payton's head. TO THIS DAY. His mind has been completely messed up, ever since it happened to him. Like when you put a prisoner in a dark box for a month or something, he's not the same man when he comes out. Payton is NOT going to easily give up control of the defensive side of the locker room, to some DC's personal assistants that Payton can't control. Those same old same old coordinators are in there for a reason, because they are Yes Men to Payton, and because he got railroaded, and the Bountygate stuff is STILL all up inside Payton's head TO THIS DAY. On one level, he is completely and totally paranoid. Control freak, yes. Perfectionist, yes. He always was one, but the aftershocks of the Bounty thing has made it spin off in weird ways.

I think maybe one or two coordinators may go, emphasis on MAY go, out the door. But a wholesale house cleaning, top to bottom? I don't see it happening, unless Payton is somehow forced to.

I have to disagree with you on this. Payton is too smart and has too much pride to let a fag like RG get in his head.

Add a few pieces to the puzzle via FA & draft on D and we are back.

What about the offense?

I honestly think we just need to admit we cheated for a sb, whether its true or not. Kiss Goodell's a@@, apologize for what happened, take responsibility for it and be proud to be cheaters. If you want to win you have to suck it up. I think now its time to move past it by admitting that they made a mistake, make their desire to win back the respect of the public, win back the people that supported them and jumped on their bandwagon(you need bandwagons for success all the sb winner have them). I think by doing this we could see a major difference.

We held them to 23 offensive points and one of the TDs came off a short field. We didn't execute on offense and one thing I have known with Atlanta is Matt Ryan plays scared when trying to keep up not when given the opportunity to take over. We were hosed on a call additionally that would have dramatically changed this game. We don't need learners on offense we need knowers.

What is different/missing from 2013 and 2014?

Harper and Jenkins were the glue that kept this defense together and obviously they were needed for more than their play on the field than the coaches and fans thought.

IDK, that's a bad sign if you ask me. Too much "buddy-buddy" going on and not enough "play the damn game", IMO. Sure, they like him enough, but they don't respect him enough to play their balls off,. It's Rob's fault too. He came in, probably being the 'nice guy' ... it didn't work and when it came time to tighten 'em up, he's got a bunch of squiggly little worms on his hands that don't respond, ... it's Leadership 101 ... you tighten 'em up first, then you be their 'friend', not vice-versa,.

I can understand your frustration after what Godhell did to our Saints and in particular Coach Payton. And that is definitely one way to approach things. But I'm not rolling over for any man.......much less Der Kommisar.:bang:
