Smoot is one of my favorite players in the NFL. I've read a lot of posts on here about the Saints picking him up. Is there any truth to this or is this just wishful thinking?

Probably wishful thinking. I know the Saints were high on him because they tried to trade up in the second round to pick him but couldn\'t make a deal. With McKenzie and the late surge by Fakir and Craft they probably will think that there are other more pressing needs to fill by FA. But teaming him up with McKenzie would make a pretty good defensive backfiled for years to come.

oh that would just be real nasty. im not sure we could afforf him with having to resign joe and deuce and mckenzie. then there is the attempt to bring back howard. i think that is almost a no brainer that it wont happen but it would be nice. if we cut sully would we get any extra room or would we still abosrb the hit. maybe that could free up soime room./

I mentioned that first... in reguards to a question that what player would make the biggest impact to this team in the off-season. Getting Smoot I think is. He isn\'t happy here in DC and yes I am in DC and know what is going on up here a bit. Smoot is going else where it seems. Will the Saints go after him remains to be seen there isn\'t going to be any moves for awhile yet so no one can answer that question just yet.

Let me say now I do not know either way if he goes or stays or wears black and gold next year.
