West Virgina?

millionaire babies the lot of them.

I want more money, i want to work less. I do not want to take any risks

The NFL is imploding before our eyes.

What do you expect from a group that turns down life time insurance for more money and still demands rule changes?

West Virgina?

i would take the team to the Jim Jones training camp in Georgetown Guyana.

that might get their attention.

It comes down to doing all the little things, things that Payton really took his eye off of this season. I'm paraphrasing, but somewhere he stated that too much leverage was given to players to do the right thing...showing up to meeting on time, showing up to the plane on time.

Those are the things that separate winners from losers. All those micro improvements or tiny bags of coin as I like to say, add up to something. That something could have made us a 10 win team this season. We lost 4 games I know of because of it. That is on the shoulders of the leadership.

Its like any form of training though, if you do not do it on a consistent basis the benefits of that training quickly dissipates. As soon as the players come back home to continue their training those high altitude or high temperature benefits are replaced as the body adapts to the home climate.

Pretty sure there is a fair bit of study out their which suggests the lasting benefits of such training is minimal if any at all.

Australian rules football teams went through a phase of travelling to places such as Arizona in the preseason to train at high altitudes. Many teams are now opting to stay at home as data collected suggests their is minimal longer lasting benefit.

No need for players to be out there in intense heat in preseason.
The aim of preseason is to get the players working as a unit and get them fit for the season. You push people to breaking point in July and August and you have as bunch of dead men, fitting mental and physical fatigue by late November. Thats why you often see the teams that do push preaseason training start like a house on fire and drop away come late regular season. You want the players in peak condition december and january not sep/oct.

For the likes of high altitude training to work you have to stay at high altitude and come down just before the event you are competing in. If you want the players doing that training you may aswell just at home and send them home with a Hypoxico tent to sleep in. While the NFL is pretty good in training in lots of areas imo it falls well behind in sports science, the days of long training sessions in heat and hills runs went out with the ark and have not been used in most sports for many years.

I think this new age fitness is a bunch of crap. Your body has to be push hard to higher levels to get leaner, stronger, and faster. This team needs endurance and in cooler weather the body can take more than in hotter weather but the sessions are not as long as they use to be which training in the heat will be more benificial for the given shorter sessions and the endurance level is much better. I train my dog in the heat, he can't take the heat nearly as well as he can cooler weather but the benifits of training him in the heat plays a major factor come fall(cooler weather) you can't shut him down, the endurance is all ready there. I would send these pansie players in the heat.

It's not WHERE the training camp is, it's WHAT they put into it that makes the difference.
I did not see any videos from WV that would lead me to belive they were a focused/determined/hungry team. Lots of pranking, QB competitions, and hype.

Haslett's teams used to train out in the heat and they fell apart late in the season just about every year. This is not freaking Junction Boys anymore. You get a few hours and one practice session each day. And most of those aren't full contact. That's it. Under those restrictions you're just wasting time, energy and reps going out in the heat. If the team is mentally tough, they will overcome things during the season. If they are not, they won't.
