Saints sign a new WR:
Report: Anderson signs with Saints
TSN.ca Staff Thyron Anderson was an Alouette last year but it appears he would like to be a Saint. According to the Montreal Gazette, the Louisiana native has agreed in principle to a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. "I'm just excited. I've been waiting patiently. I'm just happy to be close to home," Anderson told the Gazette. "When I started to play, I just wanted to make a name for myself. I never thought about the NFL. I just wanted to play to the best of my ability and get established in the CFL. Anderson, who caught 76 passes for 1,147 yards in Montreal last season, was scheduled to enter his option year, a timeframe that allows players to sign with NFL teams. The wide receiver, who attended Grambling, is expected to collect the rookie minimum of $230,000 US. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/news_story.asp...33&hubName=cfl |
