Re: Brees Opens Up What Went Wrong in Lost Season
hate the word ‘talent.’ I hate it,” Brees said. “Some of the best players I ever played with, or best teammates I ever played with, that wasn’t their best quality. Everybody’s talented. Their best quality was their work ethic, their leadership ability, their ability to fight through adversity, toughness, reliability. Those are the things I most value.”

Most of our best players, including Brees, were taken out of the bargain bin. One thing they all had in common though; Great character.

Re: Brees Opens Up What Went Wrong in Lost Season
Good article.
I've said in the past that I felt like Payton had implemented a "system" in New Orleans and that similar to the Patriots we would always find "role players" who fit and excel. I still believe that. This is only the second year SP's Saints have been under .500 and only his third without double digit wins. Clean it up. Get re-focused and win games. |

Well I hope the coaches know how to fix this mess. Because players were obviously not responding the way they had in the past.

Re: Brees Opens Up What Went Wrong in Lost Season
We did lose a lot of players but good teams know how to regenerate the new talent coming in. For some reason this did not happen for the Saints it seems like there was a distraction that SP could not overcome. Whatever it was was deep rooted and affected the entire team.

Losing Charles Brown cost us?!?
Again, evidence that Peter King doesn't have a clue... And when in the article did Brees "open up"?!? |

Re: Brees Opens Up What Went Wrong in Lost Season
The front office missed in free agency and on the draft. The coaches and players were just lazy and without passion the whole season. The coaches are basically the same. They have limited to no funds during the free agent period. And unless the draft lands new starters at OLB, C, CB, G, RB, WR and K, the team is basically going to be the same in 2015.
