Bigger hurdle is the frozen assets in the trust and Benson having to shift the full appraised value of both clubs to shuffle the teams to another heir not in the original trust.

Will Rita etc prove Tom has lost his marbles? No, too hard to prove.

Will Benson get away with the trust fund shuffle? Yes, and millionaires get away with devaluing things to avoid taxes for inheritance etc.

In the end, I predict Gayle will get the team.... unless some more drama rears its ugly head that no one knew about.

He can sell the team out of the trust or swap assets equal in value. As the trust is likely to have leveraged the asset, its net-equity position may make that easier to accomplish, especially if the debt transfers over with the asset. It would be a real coup if he could leave the debt in the trust! Take that greedy, ungrateful heirs!

When was the last time he was seen in public. Not being seen in public is not a good sign and you can kinda read the tea leaves where this is going. Releasing statements says nothing about his mentality. That's the card Gayle has yet to show.

He met with the writers from NOLA.com this week and in another appearance was interviewed by WWL. Larry Holder said he appeared to be the same as he has been every other time he had met with him over the past several years. He's 87 years old and has very bad knees. I wouldn't expect him to be out and about much.

As for the "family feud", this didn't just happen. Rita has a long history of being undependable. Tom is just doing what he feels is best for the future of his holdings. Rita and her family are the ones that are incompetent, not Tom.

Benson met with the writers of NOLA.com and Larry Holder who are...employees of his?!? Why not other third party news sources who may have been a little more objective?

Bad knees or not, has he spoken in public with the same clarity and purpose as he has in the past? And if anything, even if it were in a Professor Xavier maglift wheelchair which he could certainly afford, or even a six Egyptian slave litter he should be out in public reassuring the fanbase if he's truly competent, able...

Family Feud didn't happened? There was obviously something that happened for him to fire off the letter just after Christmas...

Do you have evidence, experience of Rita's long history of being undependable other than what may have been stated by Benson's lawyers?

As far as Rita being incompetent, there seems to be some conflicting information...
