Superbowl 49

OK - I admit I only watched some of the 3rd and then the whole 4th quarter. Observations from this Saints fan:

1) I am SO GLAD that this miserable excuse for a NFL season is now officially over

2) I could not stand either team today and wished it could have ended in a tie

3) Why do you not run Lynch from the 1 yard line????? I would want to leave Seattle after that call if I were him

4) The fight at the end was a black eye to the NFL and I loved it. It speaks to the quality of both of these organizations. The Cheatriots and the Pedhawks. I wanted it to go on until there were so many ejects that the game ended in a forfeit because there were not enough players left for a kneeldown

5) Kraft will cook an extra large steak for his lackey Goodell and the Patriots will get hit with a fine and lose a 7th round pick for their transgessions.

6) BRING ON 2015. OUR TIME BEGINS NOW!!!

Worst play call in Super bowl history.

You want wilson to be a hero? This is what you get! lol
He got away with way too many lucky plays in his career. He is just not that good. not even close.

Yeah, I could not stand either team also.

Re: Superbowl 49

Seattle deserved to win but deserved to lose even more. Two mistakes of epic proportions tonight. Why in hell would you leave Gronk in 1 on 1 coverage all night against a linebacker with no safety coverage over the top? They refused to make adjustments regarding that. With such a great defense with great safeties,o how the hell do you not make the adjustments on that? That was pure stupidity. Second, Marshawn Lynch. Marshawn Lynch. Marshawn Lynch. WTF are you thinking Seattle? That's one of the cutest play calls I've ever witnessed.

Re: Superbowl 49

Come to New Orleans Marshawn. I'll make sure they run you on the 1.

Re: Superbowl 49

Darrell Bevell offensive coordinator for the Hawks, you gotta be kidding man! Brees84 has to be right they tried to make Wilson the hero and punish Lynch. That has to be the only logical explanation.

Re: Superbowl 49

Also, after the patricheats intercepted the ball at the end of the game, they were flagged for excessive celebrations and virtually the entire pats team was in the endzone after the penalty was marked off.

Brady could not have kneeled on the ball to run the clock out or it would have been a safety; so they would have had to run a play and there was a decent chance that would have resulted in a safety as well.

So the dumba$$ 'hawks jump offsides and give the pats an easy 5 yds!!

SMH!

Re: Superbowl 49

What a meltdown by the Hawks couldn't happen to a nicer team!

Re: Superbowl 49

Don't get the hate for the Patriots other than the fact that they just win. Those "scandals" are all BS. Look at bountygate like seriously? The NFL has zero credibility handling these things. The Seahawks got away with constant holding last year to win the SB, but oh well it worked. Nothing made me happier to see Richard Shermans face at the end there. I was happy for such an outstanding game. Couldnt have asked for anything game wise other than for the Saints to have won it.

Re: Superbowl 49

Loved it. What I love is that the cheaters got beat by the cheaters.

Not running Lynch was the absolute stupidest play in the history of plays.

That fight, if I saw things correctly, was the result of a cheap shot by Seattle. Personally I loved it. The game was over. The guy who took the cheap shot, well, I might have done the same thing he did, particularly against the PEDhawks.

Pete Carroll sucks pond water.

Bill and Tom suck pond water.

Agree this mess of a season is mercifully over. I hate the draft but I'm looking forward to it because it officially kicks off the new year.

I hope Pete Carroll gets caught doing something else shady and leaves town in the night for the CFL - no, I don't wish something that terrible on the CFL.

I hope the Patriots get what they've got coming over deflate-gate...but I know it won't happen. I can still dream.

I hate the NBA.

Re: Superbowl 49

I loved 3 things about this game (I hate both teams):

1. The way all the Hawks fans must feel after they get that outstanding catch only to throw a pick on the 1 yard line.

2. The over hyped, overrated, trash talking loudmouth Richard Sherman's face when the Wilson threw that pick.

3. The way the classless, trash talking thug Seahawks started a fight at the end of the game on a victory formation kneel down by the Pats! (I'm sure there was trash talk but a classy team wouldn't have reacted that way.)

In my opinion the Hawks got what was coming to them and showed the whole world what a bunch of buffoons they are.

I have not watched a game of the playoffs. Might have watched this if the Packers v Colts/Broncos but not these two.

Wake me up for day one of FA,I'll then sleep till the draft and finally set my alarm for late August

I'm almost wondering it the whole thing wasn't set-up/scripted or whatever ... I mean, how do you not give the ball to Lynch on that play? HOW? I think Carroll got the call from Roger to throw the game on that play in order to give Brady his 4th SB ring and put the whole deflate-gate debate (say that three times,) to rest,.

if the pass play worked Carol would be called a genius and that is all we would have heard this entire off season. the int saved us from listing to this crap. thank god. the seahawks luck tank ran dry at the 1. :broccoli:

now for the bad side i have to listen to all my pats friends and co workers go on and on yet again. now it has dynasty attached to it. grrrr :brood:

one and done? never settle and always look for ways to improve no matter how good you think you are.

to all the people that think the idea of dynasty is over rated think again.

fans players coaches and the owner are daring to say it now and i have to listen to it.

We had our shot at a dynasty in 2011 :(

Seattle is an excellent team, Richard Sherman is far from overrated, and the overuse of the term thug is ridiculously annoying at this point. People do all this preaching about class on these forums. The "classy" thing to do is just comment on the game and not denigrate people you don't know.

The Patriots cheated. The Seahawks got busted for PEDs. The Saints were punished for having a bounty system. The team we all support is far from perfect.

That play call on the goal line & subsequent INT will haunt the Seahawks for a life time.

Just as Collinsworth pointed out ..."if I'm on the 5 yard line, I lose the game with Lynch and the ball in his hands".

... and you know, you could understand the play if they didn't have Lynch. That's what makes it so bizarre. We've all seen plenty of short-yardage pass-plays in the redzone before with the game on the line, but never quite in circumstances like this. They'll definitely be talking about this one for a long time..

I'm still thinking Roger got word to Pete Carroll via carrier pigeon or something to throw the game for the drama/suspense/photo finish and to up the overall interest in the NFL ... just sayin'.

You don't have to meet someone who lays his personality out there for everyone to see, in order to have a pretty good idea of what they're all about. Sherman loves attention and attention he gets. With that being the case he has to take both the love and criticism. He was looking at the camera talking crap about the score in the 4th quarter as if it were out of reach, and then his team got beat. You get what you deserve when you act like an idiot. And that goes for all of his followers on that team who act just like him.

Re: Superbowl 49

I thought both teams played well enough to win. Seattle finally got going after a bad 1st quarter and the Pats kept running in the teeth of Seattles D and taking whatever they were given, my biggest suprise was the Pats D espeacially their coverage of the Seahawks recievers not allowing much seperation if any. Good game overall and hats off to Belicheck for his game planning.

Yep. Because being concerned with how somebody else wears their clothes is both practical and productive.
