Saints wide receiver Marques Colston says loss of Darren Sproles contributed to offensive struggles

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I respectfully disagree. "That kind of speaks to the stability I was just talking about," he said. "When you lose a guy that has produced at that high of a level and don't have an immediate replacement planned for him, ...

Saints wide receiver Marques Colston says loss of Darren Sproles contributed to offensive struggles

I respectfully disagree.

"That kind of speaks to the stability I was just talking about," he said. "When you lose a guy that has produced at that high of a level and don't have an immediate replacement planned for him, you're going to struggle at times when those crucial situations when you know exactly the matchup you're going to get, the look you're going to get and what you're going to get out of that player. When you don't have that, and it's kind of an unknown, it kind of makes game planning that more difficult."

Not sure what there is to disagree with. He couldn't be more right. How many times did Sproles come up with the clutch 1st down... Us trying to replace him with Cadet was laughable.

He's exactly right!

Just like missing the stability of a formerly sure-handed wide receiver.

Sproles made his living with those short dump off passes and the yard gains afterwards. Took a lot of pressure off Drew and kept the Defense second guessing.

Except teams had worked ot out and had near enough shut down the saints running game as you new if Sproles was on the field it was a pass. Most of his stats had decreased each year after 2011 too

I'd blame stale play calls more than the loss of Sproles.

If Cooks stays on the field we make the playoffs. Also, having our two best receiving options NOT being in the top 15 in drops would have helped.
