My point however is when 3 point are virtually a given and he tries to put a lazer into a tight spot... it's senseless. Nothing wrong with losing battles in that situation. He has an aversion to conceding that defenses just get you sometimes. I don't want him to be a game manager like Alex Smith, but in certain situations just take what is given and regroup.
