I'm all for taking the best player available in the first round... But BPA is subjective and I just don't see us valuing a WR more than defense or O-Line. If that scenario really happened we'd have a great opportunity to trade down.

With Sean Payton you just never know. I'm hoping for one of those stud pass rushers or Danny Shelton if they're all off the board then I like to see Sherff or Collins.

First-Pick has been throwing up strange results lately and that befire i trade back 4 times fauning 4 additional 2nd and 3rd eound pick (man i should be a GM with those skills) and still picking in the top 30.
Yesterday without trading i ended up with 1) Kevin White 2)Shaq Thompson 3) McKinney 4) Anthony 5) Galick |

Re: Cooper@ #13
Will Cooper still be there? He is awfully good and would undoubtedly be the best Saints WR ever. I think our WR core is solid and other positions are woefully inadequate. Personally, I would be shocked if we took La'el Collins in the first round though I love the idea. Payton does not draft LSU players.

Re: Cooper@ #13
That's not accurate...
First, Payton did everything to trade up in the 2008 draft to get the Chiefs pick and select Glenn Dorsey, but Chiefs GM Carl Peterson was being a *****; we settled on the seventh pick (49ers pick via New England) and selected Sedrick Ellis... Second, In the 2010 NFL Draft, LSU DL Al Woods was selected in the fourth round... And though he didn't select him, Devery Henderson (Drafted in 2004) was considered a disappointment and Payton and staff really turned Devery into a true performer... The Saints franchise as a whole has never really brought in alot of Saints players, Hokie Gajan, Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin were probably the most during the mid-late 80's, so to say that's on Payton is just not accurate... I'd be really disappointed, skeptical taking another receiver in the first round... I'm thinking LB and/or CB with the first three picks (two first rounders, one second rounder)... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Not an easy feat to perform. HE would also have to do it for a long time. He is a great player and I'd love to see him in black and gold. I really do hope that BPA at #13 is defence or O-line. Or rather a trade down for some more picks, its a pretty deep draft.
