Curtis Lofton cut with a “failed physical” designation. Why? Voluntary shoulder scope on 1/7. Semantics. Will be fully cleared in 2-3 weeks. Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet)

Because Lofton doesnt appear to be designated as post-June 1 release, will count entire $5M in dead money against '15 cap. Evan Woodbery (@TheSaintsBeat)

It's going to cost us $5 million for us to have him NOT play here next year.
That money's gone.
Yes, we get 4 against the cap, but what are we going to pay a replacement? Either way the position is going to cost us at least 8.
Not sure I get it when we could have converted his and Gallette's bonuses

Perhaps he (his agent) refused to restructure?

My guess is we're looking for for a true 3 down 3-4 ILB, and he isn't it.

Also, personnel moves made this year aren't specifically made only for this year.

I heard a lot about lack of leadership and veteran presence as a reason for last years suckage. Lofton was one player who did well for the most part. Maybe just not a good leader or motivator?
