Re: Curtis Lofton Released
The signs are here folks. We are completely revamping the entire defense. It may seem harsh now, but its time to get younger and faster. Yes I understand the importance of Veteran leadership but we still have guys in place to make it happen. WHODAT!

Re: Curtis Lofton Released
Lofton's a great guy and his professionalism will be missed, but it's time to usher in the Mason Foster and Stephone Anthony era at ILB!

Re: Curtis Lofton Released
The Patriots have veterans. Usually 1-2 on the d line, 1 CB, 1 LB. The rest is youth.

Re: Curtis Lofton Released
Will need a roster list this season to figure out Who Dat players that we are rooting for.

Re: Curtis Lofton Released
just pick a tape guys, lofton got owned 75% of the time in running sits. he was always to late to fill the gap, or nowhere to be seen on passing plays, I know he played his heart out hurt, just the game went by him. pushing rbs out of bounds 8-9 yards pass the line. we need speed to the outside ...... not all his fault with the interior line getting handled when tired.

Doubt this. He will restructure I'm sure. Not believing we will go into the season with 2 starting ILB's that were not on the roster last year. He is depth at least. |
Re: Curtis Lofton Released
O.K. I've got to agree with Danno on the 3-4 D. Lofton was the D's captain, calling plays and sets. He was the staple. I don't know who we will draft and who we might get as FA at the lb. positions but with Gallette, Ediboli, Harrelson, Powell, Hawthorn, Knox and Humber I expect 4 maybe 5 of those guys to make it, that leaves 3 or 4 more lb.'s that will have to be picked up to make a total of 8 in a 3-4 set. I look for the Saints to draft at least 1 or 2 and pick up 1 or 2 as FA. Also looking at the front 3 I wouldn't be suprized to see the heavy guys that can occupy multiple blockers stay and the lighter guys go. I sill believe we get another NT in the draft.

Re: Curtis Lofton Released
Looking through the FA ILB this morning and not msny three down types there. Mason is the standout.
I cant see Rex letting him get away after not getting Harris but what about Spikes?. I know he is best as a 2 down guy but he is good against the run. Id be very wary of giving McClain either a prominent role leading thr defense or a multiyear deal. Id really like to pick up a pair of ILB in the draft now. |
