Report: Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis frustrated over contract and letting go of key players, threatens hold out

A busy day for the Saints with the trade of tight end Jimmy Graham got even busier with the ESPN report that start cornerback Keenan Lewis is frustrated with his current contract and the gutting of the team's roster.

"I think it is time for me to take my talent somewhere else. New Orleans it has been good." Lewis wrote on his Instagram site.

According to ESPN's Mike Triplett, Lewis wants the Saints to finalize the final three years of his contract or let him go."

Lewis signed a five-year, $26.3 million deal with the Saints before the 2013 season.

Triplett tweeted: "CB Lewis said hes not feeling safe or happy with team being broken apart. Not asking for more $ but more security."

Triplett also tweeted: "Lewis says he wants to be released or traded or he won't come to OTAs, etc."

FWIW,
I think this is more about Lofton getting released than Graham.
I can understand that.
While Lofton has his limitations, he was an amazing leader.

Agreed. However, I do think him wanting more guaranteed money had something to do with it as well. Either way, he'll get over it. I'd love to keep him as I think he's an underrated talent but he needs to relax and let the front office work.

From the players twitter accounts Cam Jordan and Jimmy Graham were among the names, want to bet that Keenan Lewis was also mentioned and he got wind of it?

That's why he might feel unsafe?

Be a pro man, change is inevitable, whining over social media makes you look pathetic and that's not the guy I thought he would be.

No one is safe after last year, Even Keenan struggled quite a bit.

Right at the start of the Jimmy Graham thread and now on Nola.com site too.

The first tweet from NFL Network said "Saints on the phone enquiring about deals for some starters, one name mentioned was Jimmy Graham"

Then Cam Jordan put on twitter something like - not going to lie, I was nervous there.
