Just say NO to a Wr in the first round ...
I keep reading on numerous fan boards about how some fans want the Saints to draft a wr at 13 or move up for one. I strongly disagree with the idea. This draft may not have guys like Amari Cooper or Kevin White in later rounds but, I do feel the class has value in later rounds for players to come in & contribute right away. Tyler Lockette, Tre McBride are a couple of examples of this.
Wanna replace Graham ? I'd love to see the Saints draft Minnesota te Maxx Williams at 31 if he's there or @ 44 (which he probably would be gone already). Please - enough about getting a wr in the first round !!! Even Sean Payton said this is a deep draft for wrs !!! |

Dont agree completely with that
And i really dont want Lockette. He is 5'9 and we allready have Cooks and Saunders for small speedy guys. After 4/5 WR most are around 5'10/11,the rest lack either size or speed. Look at the DB in the South. The Falcons smallest CB is 5'10,Panthers dont have a CB under 6' and the Bucs smallest is Verner at 5'10. We really could do with a number 1 type. Its not our main priority but if one falls into our lap i wouldn't complain |

If its not kevin white id say wait till the next round.

Re: Just say NO to a Wr in the first round ...
my problem is that very few wideouts, first round selection or not, come in and dominate year 1. there are exceptions, but very few
I would really like to see us add a top guard, either Collins or scherff and a really athletic lb |

I'm in with spkb25 - I'd like to see the Saints get a top guard at 13 or an athletic OLB. At 31 ? BPA ...

Last years rookie class
Sammy Watkins REC 65 YDS 982 AVG 15.1 TDS 6 Odel Beckham REC 91 YDS 1,305 AVG 14.3 TDS 12 NYG Mike Evans REC 68 YDS 1,051 TD 12 Kelvin Benjamin REC 73 YDS 1,008 AVG 13.8 TDS 9 Jordan Matthews REC 67 YDS 872 AVG 13.0 TDS 8 Jarvis Landry REC 84 YDS 758 AVG 9.0 TDS 5 John Brown REC 48 YDS 696 AVG 14.5 TDS 5 Brandin Cooks REC 53 YDS 550 AVG 10.4 TDS 3 Martavis Bryant REC 26 YDS 549 AVG 21.1 TDS 8 Allen Robinson REC 48 YDS 548 AVG 11.4 TDS 2 Donte Moncrief REC 32 YDS 444 AVG 13.9 TDS 3 Outside of Marquise Lee and Lattimore every one of them had a really good season and a fair few started coming on stronger and stronger as the year went on. Saying that WR dont come in and perform straight away is wrong imo. They may not be top 5 receivers in the league but we see more and more that college players are ready to go. For me TE may struggle as they have more to do than WR but you give a WR some simple routes and they get you yards. |
Re: Just say NO to a Wr in the first round ...
I'm okay with a WR, just please, oh please, no more freakin' "projects"!
