If hr starts year 4 of the 5 year deal he will be getting a good deal if he is the guy.
There is a reason Indy are loading up now while they make a last throw of the dice while Luck is under contract |

Re: Should we draft and develop QB Bryce Petty
Well you got to pull the trigger eventually. I honestly would rather the QB of the future to sit under Bree's for a while. Then To just draft one and hope he does well. Bryce is the ideal QB to sit under Bree's and be successful. An he would get a decent contract but nothing that would kill us. I got a feeling it's gonna happen with our 2nd rd pick. Payton wanted grapollo or however you spell his name last year and New England snatched him up a round before Payton was gonna get him. The time is now finding a QB can kill a team for years and years. Gotta get it done now before its to late

Re: Should we draft and develop QB Bryce Petty
I just dont see it with him.
I see no point wasting a day 2 pick on player who isn't seeing the field for a few years. *Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor* Height: 6-2. Weight: 230.* 40 Time: 4.87.* Projected Round (2015): 4-6.* 3/14/15:*WalterFootball.com knows that multiple NFL teams viewPetty as a third-day prospect*despite the hype from some draft pundits. He had a solid Combine performance.* The view of league contacts was justified by Petty's performance in 2014. His accuracy was inconsistent, and he missed a lot of wide-open receivers who any NFL quarterback has to connect with. To help himself, Petty finished the year well against Michigan State, including a number of accurate deep balls. Petty needed a strong week at the Senior Bowl, but that didn't happen. He was average and looks like a backup for the NFL rather than a developmental starter.* Petty completed 63 percent of his passes in 2014 for 3,855 yards with 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He had six rushing touchdowns. Petty needs to improve in his pocket passing and accuracy.* 8/27/14:*2013 was an impressive debut season for Petty as Baylor's starting quarterback. The dual-threat quarterback could definitely improve as a pocket passer now that he has gained a year of experience. Petty completed 62 percent of his passes last year for 4,200 yards with 32 touchdowns and three interceptions. He ran for 339 yards and 14 touchdowns as well. Petty backed up Robert Griffin III and Nick Florence for three seasons .* Weaknesses Scouts concerned he could be product of Baylor's one-read system. Has tendency to spray the ball against zone coverage on intermediate routes. Can extend plays but won't make many plays downfield once he extends. Mistakes happen when forced to come off of first read. Struggles when defenders are near his feet. Yards per attempt declined in 2014 and screens were a much higher percentage of his passes. Struggles to pull himself from the doldrums when having a poor game. Nose of the ball dives when he doesn't drive throws with his lower body. Must learn to read defenses and get through his progressions when he joins the NFL. Sources Tell Us "My grade is a projection based on what I think he can do rather than what he did this year. I think his back was a bigger problem for him than people realize." -- AFC North area scout* "Offenses that ask quarterbacks to look to the sidelines so coaches can make the pre-snap reads will never crank out NFL ready quarterbacks. Those quarterbacks all need redshirt years in the league." -- AFC West area scout* "After watching the tape, talking to both guys and seeing them work out, I have Petty ahead as my third quarterback." -- AFC quarterbacks coach Also add in his back issue (similar to Romo). The best thing for the Saints would be a team wanting to jump up to take him at the end of the first round and we mive back 5/6 places and gain a third. |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: Should we draft and develop QB Bryce Petty
I want to watch this kid next year.
Jonathan Goff, QB, California* Height: 6-4. Weight: 210.* Projected 40 Time: 4.69.* Projected Round (2016): 1-3.* 2/8/14:*Goff enjoyed a breakout 2014 season. The sophomore completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,973 yards with 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Goff displayed real pocket-passing potential while playing with a less-than-ideal supporting cast. He became the starter as a freshman in 2013 and completed 60 percent of his passes for 3,508 yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. We will have a better idea by then how long Brees is with the team as he will wither be extending his deal or getting replaced the season after |

Re: Should we draft and develop QB Bryce Petty
Rather see us bring a good kicker in. Any leg in the draft that's worth looking at this year?
