this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Would Haslett and who could be offered in trade for Randy Moss? Hell, if the object is to fill stands, sell jerseys and create buzz, that's one hell of way to do it......

I\'d be in favor of adding an elite \"me-first\" wide receiver this offseason if we had a guy as classy and team oriented as Donovan McNabb at the QB position and a coach as well organized and disciplined as Andy Reid running the show.
Otherwise, an elite \"me first\" WR paired with a mediocre \"me first\" QB and a head coach who is notorious for alienating key players is a recipe for disaster on about every level you can imagine. |

I would prefer him staying with the Vikings, I really think that he would be a huge problem in N.O, Horn and Stallworth works for me, Moss is a cancer and there\'s no cure for him, he\'s been a problem in the NFL and for his team mate who he cares nothing about, he\'s only for himself and has to be the most selfish player in the NFL, he doesn\'t have a great talent though, dame shame that he acts as he does.

I would rather trade for Nate Burleson... not as equal in talent, but consistent and no headaches.

I don\'t think Moss needs to go to ANY team that is struggling. Moss is not the type of player who reacts well to adversity.
But if he goes to a team like the Pats or Eagles or anyone like that I think he\'d be fine as long as they are winning. Terrell Owens was great for the Eagles. But IF they start struggling, he will be a problem. I love Moss\' talent. I wouldn\'t take a chance on him in NOLA though. |

My opinion is that Moss will be with the Jets next year. Moss and Pennington together again. Two Wr\'s named Moss on the same team?

I understand that there is some concern over Moss\' behavior. He\'s a thug, he\'s a quitter when he knows he\'s going to lose, and he\'s lazy. But he doesn\'t like losing and he doesn\'t like being embarrassed by opponents.
Despite all this, his presence instantly disrupts defensive schemes. With the unbelievable lack of production in the 1st quarter this past season, if the Saints score only HALF what the opponents score in the first quarter next season, that would be almost 50 points more over the season in that quarter, and almost 20% of the total scored for the full season. Increasing the total points scored by 20% usually means playoffs. So, who the hell cares if he\'s a problem. If he\'s not in jail, he\'s probably worth 2 additional wins, 10K more season tickets, guarranteed blackouts, higher revenues from merchandising, increased national interest (translating into free advertising for the City, which needs more tourism to pay for the Saints.) So tell me again why it\'s not worth signing him? And none of the whining \"it\'s...too...hard (pout, whimper).\" Tough titties. I don\'t want nice guys on my team, I want guys who win. |

He would want tons of money...I think we should look into getting a better Defense..and spend whatever money we can spare on defensive players...
Our Offense is decent enough...with a new T.E.( or a much improved performance from our own) ..We could do really well... Moss will help any team he goes to...But he will cripple you financially...A double eged sword... Of course he would make us better..But..So would a few Big Name, Defensive Juggernauts..And we would have much better balance..I wouldn\'t take him..If I had anything to say about it |

That was be a sick receiver core of there with Moss FireVenturi and actually a good idea for the Jets. But in all likely hood they don\'t have the cap room. Too many people to resign Abraham, Ferguson, etc. Someone would have to give a player in equal salary back and right now I can\'t think of anyone available. Ty Law but he\'s going to be cut and had at a cheaper salary. Julian Peterson of the 49ers but Mike Nolan likes him a lot so that doesn\'t work either.
